I use nappy sacks too. Ive heard that you shouldn't flush the poo as it goes to the sewerage plant and leaves toxins in the water. Don't know if that's true?

Yes we have been there. as you know you need to flush as you tip the tray in. If you don't get the timing right disaster.

I bag mine cos I have trays in different rooms!! When I have fosters using woodbased in the bathroom I will occasionally flush, but I use gravel type for my own cats, so woudln't risk it. Haven't found a cat poo yet that doen'st have some litter stuck to it.
Please spay your cat

No it should not go in the compost heap, especially if you are using it for food.

The stuff you have delivered Witty as you know is completely different and is mostlu grass, straw etc. Cats extract is meat!!

Who cares when it's around the fruit trees! Besides, I get the most delicious apricots and no, I don't glow in the dark!

Asides, what's a few cat poops when it's mixed in with a couple of tonnes of cow doodah???

What about the compost heap if you have one? That's what I do...  :evillaugh:

Mind, I get a load of muck delivered every autumn to spread on the garden, so one poop more doesn't make a difference!

Lol....I have to say, and I am ever so grateful about this fact and I hope it doesn't come back to bite me in the  :censored:, but Lexy's poo rarely stinks...

No! Seriously! It does not stink. I think its the litter and I use a hooded tray but I have only made the mistake to clean the poop out just after she did it, and won't make that mistake again....So feel safe in saying...wait an hour!

 Eeee! I can't deal with toilet blockages!! Think I might just use nappy sacks! If they can attempt to mask the smell of baby poo, then they can attempt to mask the smell of kitty poo!!

I've been lucky. I only flush poo and use flushable litter now so if a little goes in then its ok, thankfully no blockages...can't imagine doing the same as you Lisa...I'm sorry even if I was broke I'd pay someone to do that for me.........yuck

I use nappy sacks too and put them out with the nomal rubbish.  I would be careful of flushing poo if it has any litter attached to it at all (which it probably will have) unless it's flushable litter.

LOL don't feel bad, until only a short while ago I was putting it all in a decompostable bag and putting it in the big (all the dirty litter), then dawned on me...just flush the poop at least!

Poop is poop!  Stick it in the loo if its just poop. Unless you use an easy to flush litter like wood pellets or the organic type like Worlds Best then its prob not safe to flush, but pellets and WBCL is ok. Avoid flushing clumping litter as that will clog the loo if there is pee clump mixed in, but there you go...

Poop is poop!

A Question About Poop! Sorry!
« Reply #1 on: January 19, 2007, 20:08:03 PM »
Hi all

Sorry for having to ask this! Ok, when a cat has gone poopy in the litter tray, and it's been removed by loving owner, what is the best way to dispose of it?

Last time I had a cat, it was just thrown out sort of like down the thing in the ground (I have no idea what it's called! The place where human waste goes!) sorry, medication must be kicking in!! But here, I won't be able to do this as there is no thing in the ground. It all goes to a main sewer and you don't have to call a man with a tanker round every 6 months to empty it... Oh tis the life to live in the sticks!!  :shy: So would be ok just to flush it? Or not...

Sarah xx
