Melissa went this afternoon to Bigpaws new home in Loughborough, it has been a fab hot day here today and it think it took 3hours or so.. I havnt heard anything since but I think Melissa would of made a noise to start with then fallen asleep..

Strangely my two came in without me rounding them up tonight, perhaps they realised the coast was clear.

Melissa never did venture outside much, but i feel sure with time she will get used to grass beneath her feet..

Sadly the otehr siamese hasnt been seen for a while and they council are now clearing the house, not sure what else we can do with that situation.

How did the trip go Bigpaws?  how's Mellisa settling in?

Yes the person taking Melissa will take the other puss if they can be reintroduced after this time and when we catch her. I dont think they are related.

Melissa who goes to her new home on Sunday is one daft cat!! She has no idea of the outside world. The weather this way has been lovely and i have tried to give her abit of air the last two days and set about putting a harness on her (which doesnt bother her) but as soon as she goes outside she behaves in a totally different manner and at one time yesterday i felt sure she was going to end up in our pond. Fair to say i avoided taking her for a walk but at least with a harness on she has had the opportuntiy for some fresh air while i have been busy. She seems fine with people she bonds with but the amount of times I have dug her out from behind the filing cabinets. She obv hasnt been an outside puss cat much which is a shame as i live very rurally and seeing my own two enjoying the sun the last two days has been nice.

I wouldnt trust her if she did get outside to come back in without some force, food isnt her downfall at all, she hardly eats a thing during the day...

She is however one very, very laid back puss cat and has no malice at all in her, never once bitten or stratched... Once her confidence is there she will be a wonderful puss cat although i am not sure she will ever get the idea of a feather on  stick...

Melissa (the siamese we have caught) has been with me a few days now. She is a real cutie and no problems with my two although i am keeping them seperate. However, due to Bella my own puss cat and issues with her tablets (i.e if she gets to distressed she doesnt have her tablets) i have decided that Melissa should go to a new home who can love her to bits.

She is siamese with totally no malice in her, no scratching or biting. She doesnt really know how to play eats little but is a real cutie and i think baring in mind that she is abit underweight but has no health problems, i should give her a chance of a happy life (not to say she would get it with me, but she would contend with two other siamese)... I have heard from a lovely lady who is moving heaven and earth to make sure she will fit in with her home and i am sure that this is the right thing to do. If we catch Madeline then they can  hopefully go and join Melissa...

Really hard giving up puss cats you have set your heart on but my own dearly beloved cats that i have had for 12 long years come first!

I hope you manage to get the other cat safely.  Perhaps it would be nice for them to be rehomed together?

I am dropping off some more food for the traps today. We are running out of time as the council want to get their contractors in to gut the place ready for the next tenant. It will be heavy duty stuff as there was a sick elderly man living alone without any support from social services it seems  >:( - apparently the house is in an appalling state.

i hope that her sister can be found and these two can be rehomed as a pair, which would free you up for a needy cat. I have been lucky with my fosters, the only 2 that have stayed have been 13 yo's that had been waiting for months - even though I have 2 here that will live their life out here (age and illness, again, one had been waiting months), they are still fosters.

Its envitable that fosterers end up keeping the cats that pull at heart strings due to illness etc (as jesiri did) but Melissa other then being undweright (and she hardly eats a thing).. She is a very well, lean puss cat and i just wonder if i am being abit selfish keeping her and trying her with my two..

:evillaugh: its a good job fosterers are weak for the sickly cats not many other people would want. Sharon im sure theres a sickly siamese out there just waiting for you if you decide not to keep a healthy one  ;)

Hi Dawn
I am doing this slowly. She is eating and going to the loo okay now.. She is a very friendly, affectionate puss cat and nothing much phases her. My Bella has had the odd hiss, Leo is abit upset but hasnt left home!! She is spending the day in my living room, as i have to allow the other cats access into kitchen and its extremely warm here today.  I feel abit guilty about that, but i dont want to push it too far to quickly.

Now abit of a dilmena as i have had a lovely lady emailing me that although not local is looking to take on two siamese. We talked alot yesterday and have put things into place that she may take on the other puss cat when i we trap her (see other thread) we are having a go today again.

Melissa would need to go to another fosterer while i was on holiday end of the month, and although she is one of the most laid back puss cats you can imagine, i just wonder if i am letting my heart rule my head! There is no doubt we can offer her a lovely outdoor environment, but the other lday lives rurally as well and at the moment has no other animals, she has years of siamese experience and has even animal rescue experience.

Have some time yet but its something i have been thinking about.

Melissa. the siamese (from Rescues thread) Going to new home on Sunday
« Reply #1 on: May 04, 2008, 14:32:52 PM »
It was quite a big step for me to take on Madeline as i have always thought of my cats first. But i have had her a day now (and a bit).. I have her in a kitten cage during the night and she has the run of the living room while my two are outside.. Or in different room. She seems to only eat and night and i am unsure if she has used her tray yet.. But seemingly as she doesnt eat much perhaps nothing to come out.

She seems fine in herself.. No hissing at my two and they have seen her in the pen, but i havent let them approach each other on their own.. She has a collar on incase she escapes and so i can find her. At the moment she is sitting behind the sofa. Last night wasnt so bad, but she completely trashes her pen and scratches at the paper etc. I have now decided to just put a bath mat in (with a backing) and no paper as she keeps us all awake.. If you ignore her she decides to call it a day and gives up.. So far my Bella hasnt seemed to upset.. Leo is doing his usual thing, although they didnt get much sleep either last night with her noise.

Worries me that she never seems to eat much... But early days i suppose...I am using the same litter as the other fosterer and the same food. So perhaps just a matter of time.. In herself she seems fine... if you sit down quietly she does with encouragement come and sit by you.

We have heard of no news on the other one still... !
