Any advice on trapping a very sick cat appreciated.  :'(

I'm wondering whether to enter him as "Best Survivor" in the CP awards.

That would be a great idea!  ;)

Thanks Des, I'll pass that on. Their vet is fantastic. They phoned me and my vet to find out everything before they even started performing their own tests and found many more things wrong with the poor soul than I knew about.

I'm wondering whether to enter him as "Best Survivor" in the CP awards.

That is wonderful news - I would recommend a blood test, just to make sure it is nothing that can be treated, or at least managed, esp in view of the weak back legs.

Got an email this morning:

"Hi Amy

It was lovely to read all those messages – both OH and I are really choked.  Your positive thoughts and prayers have most definitely worked!!

Old Man Sundae thank goodness has improved.  We had a terrible night with him until 5.30 am yesterday morning.  He was Very unsettled and confused.  Then suddenly he went back to his own bed and slept all morning.  He appears delicate but back to himself again.  OH has been away all week and Sundae greeted him when he walked through the door this morning.  Sundae’s back legs appear a little weaker – but keeping an eye.  He came and sat with me last night on the sofa and I managed to give him loads of Reiki Healing!  He is such a lovely old man with a wonderful personality, he always behaves so well at the vets bless him!!  I know the inevitable will happen one day – but I am getting greedy and want him to be with us for a good while yet.

Once again thank you so much for all your kind thoughts – I really do believe it helps."

Keep your nose up lovely Sundae, we're looking out for ya!

Positive thoughts for Sundae please: Updated SUNDAE IS MISSING
« Reply #1 on: April 11, 2008, 08:56:05 AM »
You may or may not remember my story about Sundae. He's a special old man and he really got to me. He was found lifeless in a garden and we didn't think he'd make it. I took him home and syringe fed him until he could eat and drink by himself.

Turned out the poor chap was renal, had a heart murmur, was deaf, nearly blind, had a huge abcess, terrible teeth, anaemic, the list goes on.

He was happy though. We loved him. Then the strangest thing happened. A wonderful couple asked to adopt him. We explained all his needs and offered to keep his treatment funded. To the best of my knowledge they didn't claim any money back once. I went to homecheck and they'd filled the house with PAH stuff. It seemed too good to be true.

When I took him to his new home there was a welcome card on the door to a special warm corner they'd made for him. They had already booked him in with their own vet and arranged a meeting with the company who'd come round if they were to go on holiday just so everyone knew what to expect.

I did my follow up visit and, although fragile, Sundae was one happy kitty. He greeted me the same way he always had done with a headbutt and a cry. They told me of his rolls around supervised in their enclosed garden and his naughty chicken treats. I was so happy for him.

Anyway, this morning I have an email from his new mum. She says he's confused and doesn't know who she is. She is going through the testing time she knew would happen where she has to make that terrible desicion. She always knew this time would come but all she wanted was for him to enjoy one last summer. The poor lady is torn.

Please can you pray today for little Sundae and the most wonderful couple in the whole world who bravely took on such a poorly cat.

Thanks, good luck little Old Man Sundae
