Well, I did suggest he could find some useful advice / info on some good online forums (mentioned here and cat chat), and he just looked at me and make the usual shitty comment about crazy cat people >:( I just laughed and replied that I was a self-confessed crazy cat person, and damned proud of it! :evillaugh:
Koscha - you got it in one - no kids. He's a gay guy (nothing wrong there), and unfortunately he is a walking stereotype - its all image, attitude, selfishness, affectation and sleeping around. He's the sort that judges people on their style, sex life and BMI, if you get my drift. I'm sure he's capable of love, but only if there is a highly polished surface in the vicinity........
I guess I've been "spoiled" on this forum - I got used to people who DO value their cats as though they are their kids (which they are!). Sometimes its easy to forget (or want to forget) the kind of casual, low-level, chronic cruelty and neglect some people are capable of. Oh well .....one day we'll change the world together, for now I'm happy to do it one owner at a time... ;)

Makes  you mad doesn't it?  I agree that the cat is better off in its new home and let's hope his remaining cat doesn't do anything "for attention"

Some people are so  :censored: small-minded!
Furballs etc are all part of the experience- even if we despair like kirst says.
Does this guy have kids? I think not somehow.... would he give a child away because it had an accident? as i've told my OH when discussing things like this- It's best to think of a cat/dog as if it was a child then there's no delusion!
Yes I definately think that little raggies in a better place  :agree:, obviously the other cat fits more into his idea of the 'background kitty' he has  :mad2:
Yep....send him this way, we'll 're-educate him in the nicest way possible  :innocent:

Cats were once gods; they have never forgotten this, nor have the people they own.

This is a bit of a rhetorical post, in that the situation concerned is well out of anyone's hands now....
I happened to be over at a frriends flat (having a go of their Wii - I NEEEEEEEEEDDDD ONE!), and they had one of their other friends visiting from Edinburgh, and we got to chatting about cats (Laura, friend with the wii, wants a kitten/cat). Turns out this guy has a cat, but used to have two. I happened to ask about the one he no longer had - did it die? No - it is alive and well, and is a gorgeous, soppy lump of a ragdoll. He gave it to a friend because "He used to pooey all over the place for attention"  What?! Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that this sort of unusual behaviour tends to indicate stress, insecurity, or possible health problems, not "attention-seeking". I asked if he'd had the cat checked out by a vet, to rule out physical or possible behavioural / environmental problems. No, he said - this was "ages ago" (about 8 months) and the cat was "perfectly fine, he was just a difficult little sod" >:(
I tried to remain tactful, and asked if the cat was still showing this behaviour in its new home. He confirmed it was not. I asked what he felt was the significance of that (thinking it was clearly happier with a more loving, less judgemental owner) - he said it confirmed the cat didn't like him!
:censored: idiot! I frankly feel sorry for his remaining cat, and think the poor ragdoll boy has had a very lucky escape! What kind of owner doesn't bother to investigate a problem like this? He struck me as a selfish, self-centered  :censored:, who clearly ranks the "value" of a pet by how "convenient" it is, evidently happy to be rid of it should it interfear with his lifestyle or display any kind of need for him to make and effort or to be a responsible and supportive owner. *SIGH*
I'm so glad that forums like this prove there are good, loving cat owners out there, who go to the effort to get advice / treatment etc rather than writing their pet of as "difficult". Honestly, people like that depress me so much.
