Anyone used a cat lead?

Katie uses her colalr no problems and has never taken one off, so hopefully that's a good sign. I was definately going to use a snap fastening one as well. She's quite a small cat, but a little bit fat so I guess i'll try and experiment with sizes! The extendable dog lead idea is good as well. To be honest I don'tt hink she'll want to wander too far, but it would be nice to have her in garden when we are there... oooh another potential cat buy *is excited*!!!

i have a harness and lead, and have used a collar and lead too. Does depend on the cat have only had one happy to be on it.

Cant see quite on wittys pictuire but the harness I have here goes round the neck and also round the body between the front and back legs, so no wriggling out.

 The lead is attached to the middle bit so doesnt pull on the neck.

I used a rabbit one cos the cat ones I saw didnt seem to be long enough between the neck and body, the pet shop suggested it and it worked fine. Kocka was a small cat

I use a harness and lead with one of my ragdolls Elle who had the right temperament.

She does enjoy it but so far its been difficult to get her to walk very far without shaking a can of her favourite treats.

Yes, I use a cat harness and a lead with the Tobster - coming walkies with his meowmy is his party piece, he's even done it in the High Street here in Ely. 

He has a german cat harness, can't remember the brand, but it's got the snap fixings as opposed to buckles (easier to get cat in and out of harness). I just use the standard lead that came with it and it seems to work fine.

A friend of mine has a harness called a "Walk n Vest" which also works quite well.

I've seen cats with a harness on but not anyone I know.  Pet shops might be able to tell you which is the best seller or a vet.  I suppose you will have to persist just like when they try to scratch off a collar when you first put one on.  Good luck.

I used to use a cat harness, well actually it was a rabbit one, and extendable small dog lead for Kocka.  She used to have no problems with it and loved to forage around. It was in the last year of her life and I was only able to walk very slow but she loved it so much she pulled me over once.........dont worry, I got no balance LOL.

You must never leave them on their own with the lead on cos they could get hurt but walking around with them is fine, out in the garden.

I would get a harness and see if she is happy with it and then if so and small dog extendable lead lets them wander a bit further away from you. About 16 ft I think.

Hello you guys!

Katie and I have just got back from a week with my mum and dad up in Durham. She's been up twice now and settle in really quickly and is soon purring on my mums lap! We have always kept her in and in the first visit she wasn't too bothered about it, but at this visit where the weather has been nicer she was kind of itching to go out.

I really don't want to take any chances, but it would be so lovely to let her out next time I go up in the Summer, as she doesn't have a garden up here to play in and mum and dad's garden is so lovely for her. Can anyone recommend a cat lead to use so that I can let her out but still have control of her? She is around 7 and is a very sentient cat, but I do worry! I know i'd have to get her used to the lead a lot so i'd want to start her off in the next few months....

Anyway... *ramble* *ramble*!!!
