Sorry - I'm feeling a little 'out' of this conversation in the sense that . . . do I understand correctly . . . . or is it a joke . . . . you feed your cats defrosted WHOLE mice???
LOL! Yes, all my cats are fed a mainly raw meat diet, with the occasional whole mouse (or day old chick - not for the squeamish
) thrown in as it were LOL!
I changed them all onto a raw diet nearly 3 yrs ago now as I found especially with the persians they were fairly intolerent to the grains/cereals in dry food especially and some wet foods too, as well as many other health problems associated with dry food including dental problems and urinary problems. I did my research and joined several raw feeding groups and made the decision to switch. Mice and chicks are included from time to time, because even with properly balanced raw diets its hard to completely replicate the fur/feather aspect of a 'wild caught' diet.
And yes, I think you will find many 'conversations' about this subject!
