malt and cod liver oil to lick off a spoon.  its great for their coats and they love the taste too - its like a treat.

Also helps with furballs as that is all furball paste is  ;D

My Honi gets a bit of dry skin/dandruff on her back so i put a tiny bit of olive oil over her food every day and it seems to help reduce teh amount of flakyness.
I also give them every other day a small amount of malt and cod liver oil to lick off a spoon.  its great for their coats and they love the taste too - its like a treat.

Thanks Clare - Bella is an indoor puss like Max, and we've still got the heating on full blast as it's v v cold here, so I think you've solved it - thanks

Max always gets dandruff at this time of year, and its always around his lower back/base of tail.

I always put it down to the heating drying the air out at this time of year, and being indoor only, I'm sure its the cause for my boy.

Thank goodness for that - I thought she was ok but cats do get awful skin problems.  Bella is black all over so I guess it could show up anywhere!  ;D

Have noticed over the last couple of weeks that Bella seems to have a fair bit of flaky skin stuck in her fur, mainly around her tail.  It's very small flakes and there's no evidence of blood or redness if I rub her fur the wrong way, nor does she seem to be in any discomfort.  Is this normal or something to mention to the vet?  I should add that she's not a very proficient cleaner so it's possible that it's built up over a little while!
