so I only use Fucithalmic when there's pus or would use it every single day.

In always used to have a tube of this around for Kocka too and must get one next time I go for Franta.  Like you I would only use is very infrequently but although its call drops they are viscous drops so thick.

I used to have a war with Kocka but found that if I could just get a bit into the bad eye that problem would clear up very very quickly.

SM - that is helpful, I didn't know Fucithalmic lasted longer than a month. I can manage it with certain cats by myself, but I hate putting things in their eyes.

salt water solution or even plain boiled cooled water. My vet said that Fucithalmic does last quite a long time and not just a month. Not so easy to administer (2 people job) but works a treat and fast. My Swamp's eyes run so badly they often drop into his food, so I only use Fucithalmic when there's pus or would use it every single day. How's Chester's eye doing?

I go with the salt water solution -but i always keep a tube of eye cream in and keep it in the fridge -the vet is fine about me asking for it as Smartie (again its him!) has Herpes and sometimes gets a runny eye -but i used the cream in a stray cat that came to be fed and had a injured eye and after 2 days it looked fine.

Willow has the after effects of cat flu as a kitten - the vet said it is fine as long as it is clear (reddish/brown) but any cloudiness indicates possible infection and to get her straight in.

It could be anything including something serious or uncomfortable like Mark said.  If you are however unable to get Chester to a vet before Monday, suggest you wipe once with slightly salted cooled down boiled water and throw wipe away. Repeat with next wipe and so on....  Otherwise you may spread any infection.

I have used the liquid from a strained tea bag after it has cooled on a cotton wall swab.

Wipe once and discard to avoid re infection.

Or sterile saline on a sterile swab.

I'm sure the vet would take a cheque. Eyes can be so painful if infected or there is something under the eyelid

Saline solution aka salt water is good to bathe the eye!  Good luck!

I would suggest a cotton wool pad, one of the non-fluffy ones, dipped in warm water  but sure someone will give better advice.

If you dont have insurance now is the time to sign up !

I know, but the trouble that i have is that it isnt payday till monday... hance why i wanted to keep it clean.

I would take him to the vets cos they may need to check it hasnt been damaged and he may need som eye drops to help it to get better.

I wouldnt try and clean it until the vet has seen it cos eyes are so delicate and can get infected so easily.

Hi all
My little boy Chester has come in with a weepy eye. It seems to be a little bit gunky and isnt open as wide as the other one. He was out all day yesterday so im guessing he has poked himself in it or he has been whacked in it by one of the others when they are play fighting.

Does anyone know of a good way just to gently clean out his eye?? Have got Bob Martin wipes (got them for my otherones constant bogey problem lol) but they arent wet enough and dont seem to do much.

Any ideas!!!????
