Well Jess has had his vet visit and the vet thinks it was either acne or a scratch from Milo thats not heal properly, she picked the scab off and told us to keep an eye on it, if its no better to pop him back for antibiotics. Was trying to look at it this morning but Jess was having none of it, (think he thought he was going back to the vets). I'm just thankful it wasn't anything sinister.

good luck at the vets' and hope it's nothing serious. Max has about 3 fatty lumps and the vet does fine needle aspirates to see if it's just fatty slime on the slide & they get checked every few months. Those ones are quite easy to spot though as you can roll them between your fingers and they don't feel fibrous. Maybe antibiotics will help?? Sounds like an infection if the lump's tender.

Hi,
I also found a lump on Smartie last week -took him straight to the vets and he thinks ( i hope ) its just a fatty lump at the top of his back leg.
He is going in this Friday to have it removed and analised- i am worried about the anasetic too as he is nearly 11 and has a bit of asthma- i think its me panicking though as my vet is excellent and been a vet for years !
Hopefully it may be just a little cyst or something not too bad and some antibiotics will sort it out.  Good luck .

Acne looks like flea dirt. A claw hole thats got infected is very likely

Thanks everyone,

I've never noticed that he has had acne before (stupid question but what does it look like on a cat?)

People at work think it might be an abscess but I don't know,

The other thing I thought is maybe Milo has caught him when they are play fighting, as they don't go out so shouldn't have caught anything

Does he have acne? Often that can get infected and cause a sore lump.

Good luck for the vets

My cats have had various lumps and usually nothing to worry about as cats do get lumps and bumps. Best to be on the safe side though  -

Last night my hubby noticed a lump under Jess's chin, its more to the right of his face and its quite hard to see. It feels fairly big to me and I can't say we've noticed it before, when we tried to have a proper look last night he kept squirming away so I think his causing him a bit of pain. We're not sure of its got a head to it or not.

I'm fairly worried about him because its a lump, we're going to the vets tonight.  :scared:
