poor Milly! is she ok?
that happened to Meg a few yrs ago, it was a big black one from down the road, i was'nt here at the time but my son was and he said he heard squeeling at the bottom of the back garden, so he went out and this black cat had got her and she was trying to get away, he chased it and Meg ran in and hid, we could'nt go near her for a few days cos she kept growling and spitting at us, she came round after a while though, she does'nt venture far now, only in the back garden but i am always watching incase that cat comes, if it does i chase it! it was always getting Tigger,even when he was sick!! one of my neighbours said it got her cat once! it's the neighbourhood bully!

when Meg is in the garden now and she hears cats fighting she runs in! i don't blame her either!!!

Will do - fortunately for me my fab vet is at companion care so they are open 7 days a week so that side of things is not a problem, but obviously I'd rather nip anything in the bud if there has been a bite.  I've had a bit of a rummage as much as she'd let me and not found anything but I will keep looking just in case.  Collar is also found - it was fitted with a loc8tor tracker so it didn't take long!  I was outside panicking that Milly had run off down the lane and now I wouldn't be able to track her, when I turned round and she was in the lounge window staring back out at me!

That was the problem with mine too, especially Ducha and Sasa.

If you find puncture wounds best take her to the vet asap because it will be the weekend by the time the signs start to show most likely.

Lets hope only her pride is hurt and collar lost  :hug:

Thanks for that Gill, I will try and have a look - she's long haired which really doesn't make it any easier but I can at least give it a go!

Placees to look are top of neck and along spine and on sides.  Sasa was caught at top of one leg.

Franta was caught on top of back and vet found one puncture mark and said I reckon there will be a second and there was! By then Franta was very under the weather but the wounds did not look infected, Sasa how ever was limping badly and could hardly walk and in lots of pain.

Ducha was ill in January and had very high temperature , we didnt find the wound but was the most likely explaination.

She was only on the front lawn about 8ft away from the house!!  It sounds from what you say as if she may have had a bit of a bashing though so I will have a good look and keep a really close eye on her - fortunately my vet is really good with short notice appointments so I'm confident I can get her over there fairly quickly if I need to.

ah, if she lost her collar then she probably got a real hiding (back legs into her belly etc) so no wonder the poor girl peed herself. Any self-respecting cat would! With any luck it will encourage her to stick close to home in future ...

Thanks for the replies, I will keep a very close eye on her.  She seems ok at the moment although she is definitely sulking a bit - I'm pleased that she ran straight home (minus collar!) though so she definitely knows exactly where she is and what to do when you need to run!  She has eaten this evening and is having her usual nap so fingers crossed everything is ok!

yup, she peed her pants with fright, poor wee lass. It is a fairly normal response when a cat is frightened or attacked by something nasty ...

Well after 8 years as a house cat before coming to live here, Milly is now enjoying the great outdoors and as is inevitable I suppose, today she had her first fight.  Nothing apart from her pride seems to be dented, but she did have a rather wet backside & back legs (she is longhaired)...it's a dry day and it does whiff a bit so I'm guessing at wee...is this more likely to be from her or from the other cat?
