Hi - welcome to Purrs :)

It's devastating losing a furbabe, and must be doubly so when you weren't able to be there.  But Thomas will know, he will know that you were always worrying about him, and how much you love him.  He's watching over you now, and waiting to greet you when you go to Rainbow Bridge to collect him.  He wouldn't want you to be unhappy.  Try to remember all the wonderful times you had together ... no regrets.

This site is an absolutely lovely place, and we all understand how devastating it is to lose one of our four-pawed family.
I've lost three of mine in the last four years and it is so very hard especially when the ' outside world ' doesn't understand. We all do. Even tho I haven't talked about it much on here, just reading others posts and knowing that others understand has helped me greatly.
Thomas does live on in your heart.

I cannot deny that a cat lover and his cat have a master/slave relationship. The cat is the master.

:welcome: to Purrs!!  Glad you've found us I hope you will enjoy our company!

So, so sorry about Thomas, I can honestly feel your pain and sorrow.  But in reality, he is not as far gone as you would think, even though you can't see him in the flesh, he would be watching over you and stay close... so try to remember him and all the special times you shared with him with smile and warm fuzzy feeling instead of the river of tears, that will surely make Thomas happier! ;)

 :welcome: to Purrs  ;D

We all understand what you are going through and it must have been so hard to have been abroad when Thomas went to the bridge

I will add Thomas to our Roll of Honour for last year, this is in the Rainbow Bridge section and has music which loads a bit slow, I hope this will help  bring good memories.

Hiya and  :welcome: to Purrs.

I'm sorry you're hurting hun, I've not yet had to go through losing a furbabe (Max is my first cat), but even just the thought of losing him turns me into a wreck, so I can imagine how you're feeling

I'm sure Thomas didn't think you'd abandoned him, they know and understand our love, and it sounds like you had a fantastic bond with your little man....I'm sure he's watching down from Rainbow Bridge right now telling you not to think that way, and that he will see you again one day

Welcome to the site hun, I only joined yesterday but have been made to feel so welcomed you will too.

I am sorry about Thomas and grieving does take a while - there is no set time so don't punish yourself that you still are finding it hard.   Take each day at a time and remember Thomas every day as he will always be with you and you just might find that one day instead of tears you can smile.    Loosing one of our furbabies is devestating - they are of course your family but talk through your pain and sorrow hunnie, this forum is a good place to start.

Hi there, i'm new to this site.

I adore animals, and have a beautifull 12yr old girl called Polly that I found as a stray 11 and a half years ago.

I also had a beautiful little man called Thomas who was also a stray who was put to sleep ayear ago on the 16th Feb 07 aged 15. I adored Thomas so much, he was my little soulmate and a year on i'm still finding life hard without him.  The worst part is waking up and he isn't there and coming home from work and not being greeted by my furry little man.  Thomas got ill whilst I was away abroad and was put to sleep when I wasn't there and that thought still tears me apart that I wasn't with him.  The thought that he thinks I might have abandoned him kills me inside. I went travelling for six mths and Thomas was diagnosed with pancreatic insufficiencybefore I went away which was being treated ( he and Polly stayed with my sister while I was away who also adores cats). I worried about him all the time whilst I was away which in hindsight didn't make the trip enjoyable and it is my biggest regret in my life leaving him. I adored him so much.  I have his ashes in a locket that I wear, I still need to feel close to him, I miss him sooo much.
Some people don't understand, but to me losing Thomas and not being with him in the end still tears me apart.
Sorry to introduce myself this way, it's just a year today on the 16th that i've lost him, and I don't feel I am coping very well.  I understand others have experienced this aswell and I am not the only one to have lost a furry loved one.

P xx
