If you go on the Surrey Pet Supplies website (or ebay lol!), look for the Ancol Fat Boy Scratch Post.  My boy is 5.2kg of solid tom cat, and despite standing on his back legs and scratching with all his might, he's never pulled it over  ;D

Oh I'll have to get one of those when paid :)

If it was a cheap, two foot high post, try a different type. Years ago, I bought one from Argos for P and S, and it's great, they can't over-balance it cos it has a wide, heavy base. Just recently I bought the rescues one from a pet shop. It's totally naff. I have to weigh the base down with a bag of litter!

Take a look at the one at the bottom of this page. There are some other fun ones there too. I've got nothing to do with Argos lol.

sounds like it needs a wider base for stability. Or if it is very tall, then perhaps you can rig an attachment to the ceiling ...

Hi we got Alfie a scratchng post when we first got him. He absolutely loves it but he is always pulling it over on top of him. Any suggstions about how to stop it tipping over?
