Ha ha this really made me chuckle!!

Jameson loves tinsel, but is very particular of which tinsel he likes; he only likes thin, bendy tinsel. He will run a mile at the sight of thick fluffy tinsel.

Well the tree is still upright but both the boys have a fascination with chewing the fibre optic-y bits relentlessly. They're not normally chewers so it must be catnip impregnated or something

We tried decorating top 2/3rds only of the tree and all unbreakable decs. So far so good, Xanthe has a swipe at the lower branches but hasn't really gone for it!

Tree is so far unscathed - which is a miracle with a Doc in the house

He patted a bauble and got told off and hasn't done anything since - very strangely well behaved for our little man

You were so right !!! They dragged the Fibre Optic tree around the room between them growling like lions dragging prey away. OH was not amused but I couldnt stop laughing

Good news!!!!!!! they have left the tree alone ...well sort of , at least its not fallen over. Unfortunatly they found a new game. chase the santa off the shelf. Yep osirus likes to get up put her nose behind it and push it off.....then it is a game off now where the hell have thay dragged it off to this time.

I'd hate to deprive Jaffa and Mosi of the chance to play with the tree so I will be putting one up. At the moment I have no idea where it will go though as I don't have a suitable space anywhere.

Sheryl have you seen how long the fibres are on those xmas trees. Snuzzels had a game of catch the pretty stars and take them for a walk,

So once she had a strand firmly in her teeth she would back up

if the tree didnt fall over it could stick out by a good foot or two, then of course it was everyones turn to catch the wavy star,

still dont worry it was only pulled over about 20 times before xmas and after pruning it didnt look toooo bad.

We usually put a huge tree up but this year with the Bengal babies we have been out and bought 2 fibre optic trees, there isnt a lot of damage they can do to these - is there?

My Son was getting so excited about Christmas, that I gave in and put our tree up last Sunday.

This is what I came home to last night!!!!!

Where the tree is bare on the back - the tinsel and baubles were in the hallway, the star was in the kitchen.

apparently the "in" thing this year is the "UPSIDE DOWN XMAS TREE" and they have been saying its very useful if you have little space AND cats coz they apparently dont bother with them so much of able to climb them so well ?

This will be my 3rd Christmas with no tree

First year had a 3 month old border collie - so wasn't a good idea for a tree
2nd year above border collie was in her nightmare teenage phase - a tree wasn't even an option. Plus had a rather hormonal = naughty rabbit. Between the pair of them in would have been stressful to stop them.
This year the dog and rabbit would be perfectly fine, but I now have Memphis .. he's getting more daring every day and I can picture him up the top of the tree

Maybe next year ............

I'm a very happy girly! When Dave gets home at the end of next week we're going to sort out renting a storage unit to put loads of my boxes and furniture from my old flat in (2 sets of furniture never fits into 1 house lol) which means we'll have some room in the house and I can have my Christmas tree up!!!

Muppet and Rascal batted a few decs on it last year. Rascal hid under it but they were really good

Something tells me however the boys are going to be a nightmare

Karenjet - it is an experience - believe me! It's just like having toddlers around again - 'No' and 'Don't touch' are phrases that are useless!

No delicate ornaments, only shatterproof baubles and definately no tinsel - infact any dangly is a no no!

What about a fibre optic tree for people with curious cats? All the decorations you need are plastic covers to go over the end of some of the "branches."

Did I ever mention that last year's tree had to be dismantled before the day. First Ralph (my visitor cat who stayed 2 years) sprayed every branch he could reach. Then one morning i staggered into the loungeroom barely awake to witness the dog cocking his leg on the tree ..............

We always figure that the tree is really for the cats - its part of their christmas presents, something to climb and trash

I think Riley loved it because he's an indoor cat (and Skye too, now), so it was a bit of the outdoors he could get all excited about (without having any of the drawbacks, like weather and other animals!)....we have learned a few lessons, tho - no tinsel this year!

Hi, every year Ive always put a Xmas tree up and even used to roll the baubles across the room in an attempt to get the old boys to play, never worked though

This year have got two new furballs, they have only been with us three months and already the rubber plant has had to be moved to my moms because they insisted on constantly attack

so now I'm thinking putting up a Xmas tree is not such a good idea

By the way my husband used to have a greyhound when he was growing up who used to nibble the bottom of the foil paper on the tree chocolates, just enough so no one would notice

but enough so he could eat them!!

It's not christmas without a tree so put one up and let the cats have some fun, it's their christmas too.

Every year my tree ends up looking like a two year old has done it because of the cats so I might aswell let my son decorate it this year lol.
