Hi, I'm new to the board and new to kittydom. I picked up my rescue cat 3 weeks ago and I'm still trying to get to grips with reading her mind.
I'm trying to get her to eat wet and dry food (she was on all dry in the shelter) and have found a few flavours she likes. This morning I found a flavour of wet pouches she didn't like. I spooned out half the pouch and left her to it while I had my shower. When I cam back she hadn't eaten it, so I gave her some dry food and took the wet away. However, just now (3 hours after first eating) she's staring at me and following me into the kitchen looking hopeful. She still has some dry in her bowl so I tried the trick of picking it up and out of her sight whilst moving the biscuits around (so she thinks it's fresh) and then putting it down. She didn't even sniff it, just gave me a look of contempt. So I tried her with the other half of the pouch from this morning, heated it up slightly (it had been in the fridge) and put it down. She comes bounding up, sniffs it, looks at me and start eating her dry biscuits. It was like she's telling me, "Well if that's the best you can do".
LOL, she makes me chuckle.
