I had a similar phone call last year, a cat had walked into a persons house, and he thought i would drop everything and dash there to collect it, and couldnt understand why I woul dhave an issue with picking up a cat that probably had an owner!!

As you may remember, my Minnie was abandoned by her previous owner, who was my next-door neighbour .... after I'd started looking after her, someone new moved in next-door and they wrote me a letter - TWO SIDES OF A4!!!!!!! - complaining that Minnie had tried to get in through their back window

The bloke next door is driving me mad practicing his drums. Not because of the volume he plays them, but because he's totally pants at it! Should I ring the Musicians Union and ask them to have a word..?

silly woman wants the neighbours to think well of her and doesnt have the gumption to approach them. Serves her right. Cat can obviously spot a soft touch a mile off and has her measure ...

What would prevent her from dropping a note in their letter box if she is too gutless to approach them?

Nice one Mark - If she is so bothered you would think she would try a bit harder - she must think you have a magic wand.  She might be frightened to phone RSPCA and report them in casae it starts a row between neighbours.   Fingers crossed for the poor puddy cat.

The message said that her neighbour has gone away on holiday and their cat keeps trying to get in her house.

I rang back and asked if the neighbour had gone away and just left the cat to it's own devices?

She said "No, somebody is supposed to be feeding it but they aren't keeping it inside and it keeps trying to get in my house. I asked if it was starving or injured. She said no as it is being fed by another neighbour  - She went on to say the neighbour that has gone away has relatives 3 doors away. I suggested she speak to them about it. She said "I can't, it's none of my business - it's just that the cat is driving me mad. It got in my house and ate my cat's food once and when I open the door, it tries to come in. I said, I'm sorry but we can't order the cat to stop bothering you  - She said "I look after my own cat and they should too" - I said I quite agree but we don't have any powers like the RSPCA - I gave her their main helpline number as I had no idea what else to do
