Charlie is my beautiful Cream coloured almost 5 year old 'baby boy' who I have had from a 6 week old kitten. Its breaking my heart but I have to find another home for him as quickly as I can.The reason? My darling boy has recently discovered a whole posse of free running baby rabbits that a neighbour has in his garden, and Charlie believes they have been put there for his enjoyment. He has fetched a live one home for me and I was able to rescue and return it. But according to the owner of the rabbits which he breeds and sells, Charlie has been a 'regular' in his garden and he is threatening to kill Charlie the next time he sees him. I have no doubt that this guy will carry out his threat (someone tried to poison Charlie just before Xmas but thanks to the dedicated team at the PDSA hospital in Sheffield he pulled through). I have tried to reason with the family and offered to buy water pistols to chase Charlie off but to no avail.I suggested he protected his rabbits by penning them but he refused.I had to involve the Police when the family started to intimidate me and my partner but they could not help when it came to Charlie. They said that the guy had every right to let his rabbits roam free on his property and as it was Charlie that was tresspassing. They sympathised with me and assured me that if anything happened to Charlie they would know where to look first; obviously not cat people at all! Throughout this ordeal which has been going on a week now, Charlie has been kept in but he's a 'free spirit' and hasnt taken well to his confinement. Neither has his one year old 'sister' Annie who we aqquired after Chalie's natural sister Chloe was killed by some complete maniac with an air rifle a year ago on 29th January.Annie is an indoor cat through choice...Charlie has taken to bullying her so badly that its impossible to leave them together. Annie has been through so much in her short life (she was starved & neglected as a kitten before she came to us ) and she has come on so well but so slowly that I dont want to put her through the ordeal of learning to trust a new owner. Despite everything, Charlie is the most handsome, loving, loyal & amusing cat I have ever had the privelige to live with. I have lost count of the number of times I have wished I could speak 'Charlie-ese' so that I could tell him what is going on, but then even if he understood it would not guarantee his safety in his own back garden. So here I am having made one of the hardest descisions in my life to let my beautiful boy go. I have to, its his only chance.Idealy, he needs to be with a family with no children or pets, away from busy roads (he's petrified of the traffic) where he can have his own space and a warm bed in front of the fire and a welcoming lap at the end of the day.He is neutered and microchipped, up together with all his vaccinations.I am unable to post pictures of him at the moment, I will need my partners help so as soon as I can I will do so. Please, if you or someone you know can help find my baby boy a loving home, please contact me here on this site. Thank you for reading this.
