Glad im off that rig, the job we were doing was down on the cellar deck which meant 107 steps
to go down and up, sometimes 8 times a day :tired: :( :tired: going down was ok :) it was the climbing
that was killing me  :evillaugh:

anyway apart from trying to get everything sorted for the festive period rushing about everywhere etc,etc
I managed to get a few more photos of my sis's Furbabes :Luv:
Mickey(black and white) is more timid than Mackie? , Marble or Mowgli?? she cant make her mind up :evillaugh:
I said wait until His Personality starts to show then decide then.
one thing I can tell youz is that Mackie? , Marble or Mowgli?? is the more dominant one, but Mickey stands his
ground  :Luv:
I'll get more photos up later, My Sis had friends round at the time :shy:

they are settling on just fine, and my Sis's OH has survived with no adverse reactions
to his allergies :)

On another note, Cause I cant find the original thread, Somebodys furbabe accidentally
stood on the hot plates, and posted on Purr's, think Gill and Mark were on the same thread??
I got these glass covers from Studiocards, and think they would save some paws in future  ;)

Ok, My Sis has got the Furry Babies :wow: and I cant see them cause I'm stuck out here  :'(
gave her a phone on monday morning and I could hardly get a whole sentence out of her for
her laughing at the two of them and their antic's ( she said she has no regret's getting two  :)
and her OH has only had a slight allergic reaction to them, but then again he's down on the ground
playing with them, picking them up close to his face etc,etc so I think evrything's going to be ok there :briggin:

due home on the 17th Dec so not long to go  ;D ;D ;D

6 more days then I'll be off of this dump  :evillaugh:

Was round to my sister's during the week, and had a talk with Sisters OH about the allergies, and he said that He has been round
to My mother's house when Geordie was there and Now with Corky, and has no adverse reaction's to them, He told me it was
more when he was younger that He got the allergies, So finger's crossed when these two Gorgeous Babes arrive which shall be
"next weekend" He will have no effect's from them :) like I said " I dont think Re-homing will be an issue " But if worst comes to
worse " I will Take Them :Luv: :Luv: :Luv: " I dont think that will happen though  :(

I do agree with SR's comment though, as there is a chance the allergies wont get better, and as much as allergies annoy me as a reason for rehoming (partly cos I am asthamatic and take daily antihistamines, although not sure mine is cat related), asthma can and does kill, so it can be a very genuine reason, and anyone who suffers regular asthma attacks through something like a cat allergy is risking their health, and that does the cat no good in the long run, if they end up in a rescue due to severely compromising their owners health.

Michelle, I hate it too when sibling's are split up, that's why I suggested to her to get the two of them  ;)
I am sure My persuasion skill's of her taking them both have worked, and with her phoning other people to
get their opinion's "which led to the same recommendation!" :evillaugh:

Failing that there is the Petal Clense that was mentioned, so if worse comes to worse, He could use that.
If he has a proper allergy to them then antihistamines would be much more effective than petal cleanse. I wouldnt rely on that alone!

Are they from a rescue? They should have started their worming routine etc.

I would also recommend she gets them chipped  ;D

s'funny you should say that Desley, My Sister's OH has always had allergies to Cat's, but as My Niece is wanting one
they have buckled :evillaugh: I did ask Him what is the longest exposure he'd had with Cat's and he said 2 hrs  :-:
which I said "that is'nt really a very long time,to see if the symptom's would subside"
I used to be allergic to Misty  but in a very short period (like other people have said, you become De-sensitized
to them) I just hope it's the same with Sis's OH, Failing that there is the Petal Clense that was mentioned, so if worse
comes to worse, He could use that. He also work's offshore, and is away quite a lot. so I don't think the probability of
Re-homing is an issue :)

I'm glad she's taking both of them.
:evillaugh: I know what that's like! My three kittens are almost 8 months old now and in the thousands of photos I've taken I've only managed to get one half decent one of all 3 of them.

Hi
Hope this will be of some help - but I have an allergic reaction to 'new' cats - this lasts about two weeks as I become desensitized - i must do - all casting animals make me sneeze - except my own! Worth persevering with most definately.
Regards
Nellie

He'll be just as allergic to two as he will be to one - what a silly proposition. Others advise on allergies (about which I know nowt) but really, if he is allergic, he is allergic and so getting one cat is going to cause probs. Two cats will not double the problems at all. May even speed up his desensitisation process. Also with two, they will keep each other occupied so less likely to be demanding laps (that's the theory, doesn't seem to stop mine).

Often the de worming tablets kill the worms and then they may be digested and not physically seen in the faeces, equally its not uncommon to actually see them either.

You'll need to tell her they should be done monthly as kittens then every 3 mnths minimum altho vets now recommend monthly for life.

My OH had alergies to the cats and used to take regular anti histamines to control the symptons....Most peeps seem to build up an immunity to them as my OH did and dos'nt need allergy treatments as it has (luckily for him as Ive 8 cats  :evillaugh:) dissapeared! Wash hands after petting, more hoovering and rinse face with water also helps  ;D

Id also get especially the longer haired one used to reg grooming as its gonna be easier when older also a good way of bonding....regular clipping of nails will also come in handy  ;)

Sending you persuasive vibes for your negotiating skills~~~~~~~

My Sister's getting Furbabe - S !!!!
« Reply #1 on: November 27, 2007, 19:43:43 PM »
My Sister is going to be getting a Furbabe in two week's time, there are two of them, and she has
picked one, Her daughter has named (Mickey, Black & White, long haired kitten) don't know if it's
a Boy or a Girl Yet?? that will leave a Brother/Sister all alone  :(  I do have photos on my phone, but
my bluetooth thingys nae working and I cant find the disc
I have been trying to persuade her to take both of them, but her OH has allergies :innocent:
She phoned today, and she had been asking other people what they would do, and they've all said
the same " Get the Two of them  :evillaugh: " I think she is coming round to the idea :wow: and
her OH seems to be accepting the situation too  :)
she was asking for some advice about the kitten's and apart from the obvious vaccination's etc, I also
mentioned de-Worming, and she kinda freaked  (dont want to put her off getting them both)
and as far as I remember "they get a worming tablet, which kill's the worms and they just pass through
their faeces normally " is this correct ??
and apart from maybe requiring two litter tray's and them being very active and playful for the first several
years (if they're anything like my misty when He was wee, would scratch the living daylight's out of you
as soon as you looked at Him :-:) but it was all in a playful way :Luv: Ouch/Blood/stinging/sore :naughty:
Just forewarning her about Her Daughter/My Niece Isla getting Scratched :'(

Just wondered is there any other advice I could give Her ???

P.S. what is a good thing for cat allergies ???
I did get reply's to this question in an earlier post, but I can't find it
