So sorry about your friend and your worry over Milo. I am sure he will be fine as you have arranged company for him.

Hiya and first of all you are not being a pain that is what the forum is for we are here to support each other. Milo will be fine with the young lady staying over and I doubt he will realise that you have gone. Will your friend let Milo sleep on the bed with her? When we were away I had a friend staying and I asked him if he went out to leave a radio or the television on.
I am so sorry that your journey is necessary at this time.

Does Milo know your friend?
If he does I am sure he will be Ok with her for one night
Its a sad journey for you and a long one, so you do not need to worry about the cats as well, but understand you will.
I have to leave mine on Monday too so understand how you feel, sadly mine will only have each other plus timer cat feeders , loads of dishes of dry all over the house and also litter trays. I also put various lights on timers to mimic normal as much as possible but will be leaving curtains closed and also with heating to come on as normal too.
Hope everything goes OK

I'm sorry to be a pain but just wanted some advice on Milo. As some of you know I NEVER leave my animals but this time is an absolute must.
One of our closest friends has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and basically we need to go to say goodbye
we cant do the trip in one day as its a 4-5 hour journey at least.
Milo does not cope very well being left for long periods of time and is a complete Mummys boy (Milo is the twin of Bell and they are 25 years young) nearly 26 my daughter is coming with us too. A friend of hers is going to come and stay overnight and has promised to make and extra extra fuss of him as I'm panicking he may get himself in a state when I don't come home - is it best that I leave the curtains drawn the bedroom light on and also the bed unmade so maybe, just maybe he still thinks its the same day that I get back--------
I know this all seems a bit extreme to some but although I want and need to say goodbye to Bob our friend but worrying myself silly about Milo. Dint get me wrong I will miss all the others but they are all OK with fuss from everyone apart from El going to sleep licking my chin, I'm sure she wont forget in one day
advice greatly appreciated
xx
