He is such a wonderful cat, one of those that will always have a special place in my heart, I soo wanted him to realise that humans were nice, and being fussed was, and nearly 3 years later, he has finally got there, bless him.

He looks a smashing puss and sooo clean! It just shows that the vast majority of cats will come round in the end if given TLC - wonderful!

Just caught this thread. Tremendous work Desley. A happy successful story amidst so much sadness out there and a real lesson of tolerance & understanding of the cat and his needs.

I am currently working on la missing cat in another part of the country. If this comes off, it will make a tremendous uplifting story for rescuers everywhere. I won't tempt fate yet with an appertiser butI shall put in on Purrs if it comes off. Keep your fingers crossed that owner and missing cat are re-united and that his real owner is a good owner.

It is an absolutely wonderful story - and technically, it is thanks to CC - if I hadn't done the rehoming page, I woudlnt have been at the branch taking pics to see him, so he would have gone to a farm. IT was absolutely wonderful seeing this cat that 3 years ago was petrified of humans actively headbutting you for more fusses!! I asked his owner to take a pic of him on my knee, and that will be put on my wall at work (I have all the current cat pics on there), as well as in my photo album, he will always have a special place in my heart, and despite CP's initial iffiness, it was the best home for him.
Dolcetta - yes, it certainly does make it all worthwhile. I had a bad day at work yesterday, so really did make my day.

Wonderful story - it's always good to see a puss like this come round; all they need is TLC. Great.

I went to see one of my ex fosters last night - I mentioned him on my foster update thread, but will put it in here too - this time 3 years ago, he had been in my house 4 days, and was really on a bit of a trial to see if he could come round in a home environment, we couldnt decide if he was semi-feral or just a very scared domestic, but he was petrified at CP to the point he weed when I said hello to him (he was fine at my house though, he had an accident on the way here, but nothing after that), he slowly came round at mine, but when he was rehomed 5 months later, he still wasn't fully ready, but was attacking my cats, so we had to rehome him. It was the best thing we did for him, he went to someone as an only cat (he doesnt like sharing) and with someone who was pretty much retired, so around all the time, and he continued to improve. When I spoke to her last month, she said he was as 'normal' as he will get, and when i went to see him last night, he was a bit iffy at first, and ran into the front room (he was in his cat bed in the hallway - the same one he left here with!!), but quickly came round and allowed me to stroke him - and even sniffed and headbutted me, something that I never thought he would do - it is obvious how much he loves his mum, he rubs round her legs and sits on her as much as he can!! And to make things even better, he jumped on my knee!!! Stayed there for a while, until his mum was trying to get his attention for a photo and he jumped off (I dind't want to stop him in case he didn't like it), but after a while she put him down to come back to me, he was just sat next to me, so I decided to see what would happen if I picked him up, and he let me pick him up and put him on my knee - then he curled up and went to sleep!! He truly is a wonderful cat now, and it is lovely seeing him happy to sleep on knees, and be picked up when if I hadn't taken him on 3 years ago, he would have spent the winter in an outside pen, then a farm home found - he is a poor hunter, so might have struggled on a farm!! I did get some pics, I shall post them tonight.
Please spay your cat
