Hi and  :welcome:

Aorry for the delay in responding ... the forum is very very quiet these days sadly.  In answer to your questionI would continue to use Nexgard combo as this is suitable for young kittens.  It is easiest to apply when kitten is asleep ... just pick them up and make sure it is applied close to the skin not squirted onto the fur. :)

Health & Behaviour General / flea and worm treatment
« Last post by Dilcia on November 06, 2024, 10:53:38 AM »
Hi,

This my first post. I have a new young cat Tipsy who runs around the house, is into everything, and everything into her mouth! I need to sort out flea and worm treatment and in the rescue place she had Nexgard combo. She is such a riggly baby I don't think I will be able to get hold of her on my own to put stuff on the back of her head. Not sure whether to try her on tablets. What do people think? She is still indoors as I have only had her for 10 days.

Does it happen often? One of the reasons can be some health issues. Conditions like hyperthyroidism, diabetes, or parasites can increase a cat's appetite. I don't say this is the reason but it might be worth checking with a vet.

sorry Lesley I'm not sure at the time between jabs ... the vet will be able to advise.

If Bertie is an outside boy he may only like soft litter or ultrafine granules.

Hope it's all going OK.

Time and love and maybe giving Ruby some time out in a room for a couple of hours so that Rosie thinks she has her domain back, Feliway diffuser can help as well.  If she weighs enough to get spayed then that can help as well.  She is gorgeous :Luv2:

That's the thing tho Liz, Rosie is barely getting to see her, as soon as she does she starts hissing and gurring  >:( that is when we take Ruby out of the equation, Ruby comes across as inquisitive and wants to get closer, Ruby spends 95% of her time in the living room atm, at night she is put in with the bairn (litter tray n food too) so that leaves the rest of the house for Rosie, but as far as I can see, she is sleeping in the kitchen either on the table or the chair (I've set up a trail cam) We did have a Feliway diffuser years ago, think I gave it to the cat protection, anyway, Rosie doesn't seem to be spending enough time inside for it to take effect  I've currently got a GPS tracker fitted to her, she is currently in the Garden

Hi Peeps, its been a while    8)

As some of you may remember, we took on Rosie just over a year ago ( after her owners took her to the vet to be PTS because she meowed at night  :-: >:( )

Rosie settled in very quickly and just goes about doing her thing, just over two months ago, I started getting my head nipped about taking in a kitten... the mum of the kitten stayed at a stable out the road and fell pregnant, an old neighbour of mine took her to their house so to have the kittens, get the mum dressed and return her to the stable, she had four kits.

Yes, I buckled to the pressure, we now also Have Ruby, she's 13 weeks old now, Years ago I introduced Two boys together with no drama, and introductions with the Girls have been taken very slowly
Unfortunately, that's almost a month in and Rosie, the older cat is just not accepting the situation of sharing, I know it's still early days etc, but I don't like seeing Rosie upset like this, I did speak to Sam, n she says possibly getting Ruby neutered would help, that is in the pipeline but the vet said to get the vaccines out of the way first.

any pointers or advice, please? The older cat still has her own space and comes and goes freely (tho she is spending more time outside, more than normal) both have their own toilet areas, and feeding stations, Ruby kitten is usually in the living room, a room that Rosie very rarely enters...
