Our litter trays are on newspaper on top of plastic sheeting. When our Freddie 1st arrived, if I moved a tray to clean it, he used to run over to the newspaper. I used to panic thinking he was about to pee or poo and put tray back. I eventually realised, he just really loves sitting on newspaper. Is that usual?

All mine love any kind of paper to sit or lie on :evillaugh:
When the local freebie paper comes through the door it's a rush to see who gets it first :tired: :evillaugh:
-
Oh Menue loves the newspaper! She makes a bee-line for it when I've finished reading it then plays with it then goes to sleep on it! Don't know if it makes her warm or something?
-
Oh yes, especially when I am reading it (I tend to sit on the floor to read the paper, for some unknown reason!!)
-
Perfectly normal .... I have to shut my lot out of the room if I want to read the paper! LOL.
As soon as a paper is put down one of them has to sit on it:

Oh yes....newspaper, keyboards, work files, important letters........
-
All the cats who have owned me have loved sitting on newspapers, it's their way, in their overlord fashion, of stopping us idiot humans from being manipulated by Rupert Murdoch et al.
-
only on the side I'm trying to read >:( :evillaugh:
I used to keep my empty pizza boxes because Hamish loved to sit, sleep, cluck them :Luv:
-
They make a special point of sitting on paper of any sort, and of course, they can't resist a nice cardboard box to sit in :-:
If I'm up here doing some work, Imogen's here and she has the whole bed to lounge on but she MUST sit on whatever I've just printed out and put on the bed. She'll get up and move so she can sit on it
-
Like Desley I sit on the floor, and Lexy finds this most entertaining. She sits on the edge of the page that I want to turn, I try, she bats my hand, she wins, I go make a cuppy, return and she has sprawled on it. Anything I could potentially find more interesting than playing with her is a no no for Lexy.
-
Yes my 3 love the newspaper and if you dare try to read it and turn a page well Cleo rips it to pieces!!
-
And mine always used to sit on the crossword I was trying to do :Luv:
-
Maps are fun to sit on too!

Tis Jasper! ;D

Yep, just what I was about to put. My oldest tom insists on sitting on papers I've put on the floor - especially if they're being read!

This thread is ace!!
My house is like a showroom, not one thing out of place (combination of OH's ocd and no kids). If I put a paper down Barry will find it and sit on it. Even on a bed he will still sit on paper. I cant understand why he does it but its strange.
-
The boys actively hunt paper out, I can't even write on a piece of paper without Riley sitting on it whilst I'm in mid flow!
-
Mine constantly spill papers from my desk and bedside table to lie on and destroy lol

Yes, both my cats like to sit on paper and clothes etc.

Lexy attacks my pen if I decided to do the crossword.

I bought the Mail on Sunday the last couple of weeks for the free CDs but my puds wouldn't disgrace themselves by even giving it a glance let alone sitting on it and I wouldn't even use it to line the litter trays :)
Cheers

I did wonder whether to ask if puddies have any newspaper preferences but was worried the men in white coats might turn up.
Did you properly fumigate house Leigh?
-
Oh Yes
