Title: Is willow burmese or part burmese?
Post by: Mark on September 04, 2007, 22:16:40 PM
Ages ago, someone asked me if willow is burmese. I looked online and she seems to have a lot of the characteristics ie very vocal, climbs my leg to be picked up, very sociable but moody etc. This morning, another guest asked me again. He said they used to have one and she looks very burmese. We just call her a pocket size black cat  :evillaugh:

You can see how tiny she is against the stairs - small for an 8-year-old?

I'm fairly sure they don't come in black, but yes, she has the body type and the big yellow eyes, so probably a first cross...

With no papers, there is no way of telling, so she is a DSH.

I personally think perhaps not although there are similarities to a cat on a site, however, have you seen www.cfainc.org/breeds/profiles/burmese.html

Maybe she has a little bit in her - I had forgotten about the "fetch" thing - does that too. She will even pick up some string in her teeth and jump on the table and drop it in front of you if she wants to play. Also she follows me like a shadow. At the moment, she is nuzzling into my side - very dog-like characteristics  :evillaugh:

If you love her to bits but she drives you absolutely crazy.

Then she's got some Burmese in her.

I adore Lirael (our 100% Burmese) but when she starts jumping on the night stand at 5am because she wants me to catch her so she can come in bed...

Made the mistake of telling my husband cats are calm and sweet animals, Lirael was his first pet

Funnily enough it was around 5am she started this morning. running backwards & forwards along the headboard and whacked my cologne onto the floor  :evillaugh:

PS - why has that blue line appeared?

All those characteristics Ember has too. Although the place she came from had 3 dogs, so I think a few things she'd learnt by example.

Willow is a lovely looking cat. :)

My Jessica loves playing fetch, especially with bank notes, also if you put a £50 note, £20, £10 and a £5 she will always bring you the £50 first.

Grrrrr it wont let me post a picture of Doc.. trying again

People have said he looks burmese so I looked at a burmese cat book in PAH and he fits the traits and some of the pictures look like him  :)

He does drive me crazy, he is sometimes more dog-like than cat!  :evillaugh:
