I contacted Per Log yesterday to see about changing the details of a cat that came in chipped. Good job I was sat on my chair when they said it was £15 to change owner details.
-
I thought the £15 was the fee you paid for unlimited changes, not per change. Isn't it £5 or something for 1 change?

They defo said £15 id I wasnted to change, anyway I e-mailed them and they are going to look into it and get back to me.
-
When I had two come in the were microchipped but the details had never been logged with the database. I wrote to them and explained the situation and they registered them under my address for no charge. Might be better to write to them explaining the circumstances ad the involvement of a rescue and they might waive the fee.

I did explain the situation in my e-amil so I am hoping they will fo it free or at least cheaper.
-
Fingers crossed you can get it for free being a rescue. I've just checked the website though (and Helen's thread below) and I think you've been misinformed. It's £15 to upgrade to petlog premium (currently £10 if you do it online) and that allows unlimited changes to details for the animal's life. It's cheaper for a one off change of details.
-
I got my 'petlog premium' pack through yesterday, in there it says...
"'New Owner' If you are the new owner of the pet please comnplete this certifictae and return it to the address below together with your payment of £15. This payment includes full memberdhip of petlog premium, which will cover all future costs". You'd hope they'd reduce the fee seeing as a rescue is involved though.
-
I have jusr phoned Pet log and on the answerphone it makes it quite clear that to change ownership you have to send a cheque for £15
-
Hi Ela - Helen posted a link in this forum where you can get unlimited petlog changes for £10.
Cheese and Gerti are chipped with Pet log (cant remember Docs but its different - back home I think?) and the letter we got when they were chipped says £5.50 for each individual change and £15 for unlimited changes for life (the £10 is an offer)
Edit: sorry I just noticed Helen's post - I thought it was unlimited changes full stop but the premium must just be for unlimited ADDRESS changes not name.
-
From the petlog webiste
If your pet's details change in any way, please contact petlog as soon as possible and these will be made free of charge (a £7.50 administration charge will be requested for a change of address if you are not a Petlog Premium member).

Sounds like they're trying to tell you that you have to pay to be a petlog premium member instead of just paying the £7.50 one off charge for a single change of address. I would quote the website at them and ask if they will waive the admin fee as you're a rescue.

I am waiting for them to contact me now. I appreciate £15 is not a lot but it can but a couple of bags of litter or feed a cat for a month.
-
I think £15 is a lot. For what they'd have to do to change details, anyway. Good luck getting the fee waived.
-
I am sure that I did not put all that heading, (although I appreciate perhaps I should have) has someone altered it without the courtesy of asking me to amend it?
Anyway Pet Log have just contacted me and they will do it for free if I send a message on CP headed paper.
-

Yes - that was me! I edited the heading to make it clear to everyone what the thread was about (see Mark's thread below). I did plan to pm you to let you know but afraid work beckoned and I had to minimise the window quickly to attend to something then forgot all about it.
Good news that petlog will waive the charge.
-
Thank you for being honest, although i do think that things should not be altered without giving the person who posted it a chance. (unless of course it is something like posts we have unfortunately seen recently)
-
Well sometimes we have to make a decision to move things from one board to another, clarify a title etc in the interests of keeping things tidy and clear. If we contact everyone first to either ask them to do it or to ask whether they prefer us to do it, that doubles the workload and ends up with lots of pm traffic. I wouldn't edit someone's actual post (unless it was against forum rules) without asking permission first, but clarifying a title just makes it easier for everyone to see what the thread is about.
-
I have sat and stewed for a couple of hours or so and still feel peeved by this. To be honest if I write a title and someone does not know what it about , then don't read it, simple. If someone has a problem then I think it common courtesy to contact me and ask if I would consider a different title. I feel we should decide how we title things and it is just plain rude to amend it. I appreciate that with some posts especially recently it has been necessary to remove them or alter them and rightly so.
The suggestion by Mark is very recent and did not know it was now the rule; I thought it a mere suggestion. (not a bad one admittedly). I personally have never had a problem of what I want to open and or not and I think rules are for the obedience of fools and guidance of wise men anyway.
Well sometimes we have to make a decision to move things from one board to another
That to me is perfectly lacceptable as we can all make mistakes
If we contact everyone first to either ask them to do it or to ask whether they prefer us to do it, that doubles the workload and ends up with lots of pm traffic.
If we are going down the road of things being edited and approved then perhaps there should be more mods to take on the workload.
Anyway now I will go onwards and upwards.
-
You're entitled to your opinion, Ela, and I'm sorry you feel upset about it. I did what I thought was in the best interests of the forum. I've had the title on threads I started changed by other mods in a similar way and I have no problem with that. The problem with vague titles is that those threads dont' get read by a lot of people, and I assume that people post about things wanting others to read them. It was simply a case of adding extra information to the thread title to make it easier for everyone else to know what the thread is about.
-
I dont know what the thread was originally called but if the change adds clarity to a subject that will affect a lot of people, then I think its a good change.
Mods do not need permission to amend, move etc and I am sorry if you are not happy with this Ela. I am sure no offence was meant.
We have plenty of Mods as you will see by the amount of blue that appears in the people on line sometimes and I do not think we need and more at present ;D

I agree with you, but wrote the comment because of If we contact everyone first to either ask them to do it or to ask whether they prefer us to do it, that doubles the workload and ends up with lots of pm traffic
Anyway yesterday afternoon I made the desision never to go on Purrs again as I felt like I was back at School. However, I logged on this morning never intending to go on Pours again and here I am.
-
cmon ela - dont' you think you're over dramatising a bit here? I can see you're peeved about it but deciding not to come back on purrs because of it? Cmon - I always thought you more sensible than that.
I'lll change the title back if it will make you happy. Mods can, and will, edit, move things as and when they feel it appropriate. That happens on all well run forums, not just on Purrs, and it's solely to make the forum run better for everyone. All I did was add a few words to the title so that everyone could see what the thread was about.
-

It is fine, I could have done that yesterday had I wanted to and then we could have kept on changing it and see who got fed up first. ;D My only criticism was that it is nice to be asked.
But it is finished now and I have moved on.

>BLIMEY??? eh what's that on about ;) :P :shy: could'nt resist :heeee heeee:
