To the beautiful black tomcat, killed by some  :censored: driver this evening: I got you to the vet as soon as I could but it was too late - so sorry.

So sorry too that your owner hadn't bothered to microchip you, and that you weren't even neutered. According to the vet, you were only a year or two old - such a shame everyone failed you in your brief life.

Run free on the Bridge, you're safe now.

Thanks. It wasn't a pleasant evening and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it today but I was glad to be able to do what I could.

However, while I was waiting for OH to bring something for me to wrap the boy in, several people stopped to ask if I needed a lift to the vet, and whether I was okay. One woman actually waited with me till my OH arrived. So, for every  :censored: driver, I think it's safe to say there are at least five decent people.
