We've been chatting a bit here too...

My friends cat Zara helping us make my contribution to the auction in fact Zara has said she is taking all credit for these two items
-
Oh yes and make sure you give Zara the credit when you post the items for bidding ;D ;D
The auction is great fun and certainly the fighting talk.........Like 1p from me..............got you LOL
For newbies I should just mention maybe :shify: that cos the auction lasts two weeks items need to be drifted on over the two weeks so we nave new things every day and 1p bids are often the way to go until the last few days cos we like the fun to continue until the last mad day, epsecially the last mad hour.
You know a bit like ebay except much crazier cos I think we had about 200 items last year and they all finish at exactly the same time and like ebay, the Purrs clock will be the decider as to who gets the winning bid in time by the last second, one second too late and you lost it mayte
Maybe Helen can dig out a good link to one of the really funny fighting threads from last year?
-
Sorry :-[ I have duplicated some of the info in Tans Chrissy auction post, I was going backwards thro my unread posts as is my want :-[ :-[
-
Zara looks positively overworked :evillaugh:
-
Very good point Gill about keeping the bids going in small increments. The best part of the auction is the :duel:
-
Oh yes, less is most definitely more with a Purrs style auction :naughty:
I'm on my phone at the mo but will try and track down an example thread when I'm on a proper computer!
-
Been snapping away (rather inexpertly) on my new phone trying to get pics for my auctions but they are all way oversize so i'm using imageshack to try and link them... this is a test of a non auction related pic of Willow
(http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/5481/img0096wt.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/823/img0096wt.jpg/)
Uploaded with ImageShack.us (http://imageshack.us)
Guess I'll have to package up my items and hit the post office to find out postal costs of the bulkier ones but how do you decide on starting bids? I had a wee shopping trip at lunch time to a place that sells some really cool cat fridge magnets which I'm hoping you guys will love :)
Edit - Yay the pic worked :)
-
Willow is gorgeous are you sure she is not in the auction :innocent:
Starting bids dont have to exist and usually dont on small value items, for more expensive things its really up to you, £1, 5 etc You just need to be sure the starting isnt too high and putting off peeps from bidding.
-
I bid £5 for the gorgeous Willow! :blow kiss: She looks bouffed to perfection there :Luv2:
To work out how much stuff costs to post have a look at this chart - if it's from 0.5cm up to 2.5cm (approx as thick as a DVD wrapped in a jiffy bag) it's a large letter, if it's thicker than 2.5cm it's a packet...
I've worked out my auction stuff already and am knocking a bit off the postage that the bidder pays (auctioneers kindly pay to post the stuff they have donated out of their own pocket and then the bidder pays postage too which is an extra bonus to the amount raised) to try and encourage bidding - as an example who wants to pay £2.70 postage for some ping pong balls (very light, comes in the 0g-750g bracket, but thicker than a DVD so would cost £2.70 to post). By reducing the postage 'paid' by the bidder it will hopefully encourage more bids :naughty: :)
As for a start price, again this is just my personal opinion, but if something is likely to get lots of bids then starting it off at 1p or 99p won't hurt but if something is a bit more specialist eg a microchip cat flap (I believe we have one donated by SureFlap again this year), that might only get one or two people bidding on it so best to start the price off at a realistic level so it doesn't end up going for 99p!

Think you need to move the chatting thread cos it will keep interferring with the bidding and also make it hard for the juggling teams............how about sticky it in General or at the top of this thread?
-
There's too much stuff :scared: It's going to be impossible to keep track of bidding on the stuff I want

Wow! Never used ebay before but my mates are always using their phones to check their bids and now I get it; I could get seriously carried away with this auction... it's addictive! Excited to see what else is posted in the next 2 weeks :briggin:
-
Thanks Gill ;D
Sent one, rest to follow later in the week ;)
-
Yes its very addictive lol, I ran this mad thing for a long time with Tan......upto this year...... but am now retired and its hard not to keep popping in and adding 1p
Advice to new bidders is to make a list of what you are bidding on from the start so you know how much dosh you are letting yourself in for
And dont forget to add on the P&P :scared:
-
I think I'm going to have to turn off email notifications - there's too many! Teresa would be so proud :(

Oh dear, I think I have a problem :scared: I have to be up for 05:15 yet I daren't go to bed and keep refreshing the page as people keep out-bidding me on MY items. I'm going to be a zombie by the end of week two :evillaugh:

Time for your bed methinks and no more bidding on the things I want! Willow has already told me if she doesn't get her nice pressies she's packing her bag and heading off to find a new home just like Asha :shify:

Well my alarm was set and I had logged off but came back for one blast sneaky look on my phone! How about we do a deal - i'll let you win one thing and i can win the rest - sound fair?!
-
i fear that the only ones who will have christmas presents this year will be the cats... (and possibly the dog)....
:scared:

:scared:
Fear not - many new items coming up for humans too, all at very reasonable prices (at the moment :shy: )
-
I hope so (although have already lost track of my bidding ;D)

How about we do a deal - i'll let you win one thing and i can win the rest - sound fair?!

HaHa, it's nothing personal - great minds obviously think alike :naughty:
My alarm is set for 05:15 again :yuk: so the battle will have to recommence tomorrow :sneaky:
-
Best part of the auction finding out how much you have spent on a good cause and wondering if Oh will notice it on his credit card ( larger amounts) or if the kids pocket money will stretch if they give up treats
-
I must say I couldn't help feeling when doing the Top Bid Today' stuff last night that a separate template with SheliaRose on it would have saved a lot of time ;)
-
That's cos I do my shopping late at night, Kay.
Self taught e-bay sniping tactics :sneaky:
Tell you what, I'll start bidding under Sly's name to save you a few finger blisters, OK ? :care: :evillaugh:

-
Wow after a delay in my getting back on due to a very nasty situation with our CP branch (I'll post in the members section about it later) I thought I'll just pop on and check out the auction. As a veteran of the Purrs auctions I am so knocked out by the amount and range of items on offer and obviously more to come. I can see I will have to be on my toes this year lol. I'll be back so watch out!
-
I've been wondering why the Simon's Cat soft toy I'm selling has a zip and a little pouch in his bottom... seemed the weirdest thing to me  It's a tiny pouch not big enough for pyjamas which would have been the obvious answer, so why??? It's been bothering me and curiousity killed the cat as they say so I checked out the website which says "you can use it as a hideaway for special items, or with a bag of rice inside we've even used it as a door stop!" a door stop, I've been calling it his poop pouch
-

You could stuff it with fresh cat nip and then it will be a sucky cat and go green
-
Oh noooo, I just realised I will be away for the weekend on 2nd December when the auction closes and will lose out on all the items I want >:( If I don't have internet access on my phone (which runs the battery out in about an hour grrrr) I'll be in a sulk for the whole of December :'(
-
That is very silly and your only possibility will be to bid very high on what you really want and hope :scared:
OR dont go away!
-

I trying to be sympathetic, really I am Puffball, :innocent: but since you're interested in many of the the same items that I am then I guess you're not actually feeling my 'poor you' vibes. Just Helen to eliminate now ........... :evillaugh:
-
I had to give in on the laser toy which suddenly went from £3.20 to £70 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!   :censored: :wow:

can't be right surely!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was exactly the same, my first reaction was 'Oh, No!' then I realised the implications and a teensy weensy mean part of me thought 'Yay!' :shy:
Here's the nice side of me: If you're in a 3G area can you use the phone plugged in so your battery won't go flat.
-
Grrr I'm going away with my Mum and we already have a trip planned for the Sunday so I won't be able to plug my phone in :'(
-
Think i'm right in saying the auction ends at Midnight, (pretty sure it did last year) so you can aways pack Mum off to bed early and hide under the duvet with your smartphone ;D
-
It might have felt like midnight Sheila but I think you'll find it was either 7-0 pm or more likely 8-00 pm. This year's ends at 20-00 on Dec 2nd. Are you sure you're not trying to eliminate the competiion by giving false information? :evillaugh:

Genius Sheila :naughty: Yeah, midnight it is... see you all there at midnight. Don't be on here at 8pm whatever you do :shify: :naughty:
-
:shify: :shify: tactics at play here!
But YAY 8pm... that opens up possibilities. I should imagine the hotel has wifi ;D
-
:busted:
It was 8pm last year. Can't blame a girl for trying :sneaky:
-
Can you remeber all the "There has been a another post while you are posting" message just when you are trying to get a last min bid in!
hee hee what fun it's going to be again at 7.59 on the 2nd!

-
 and I aint put me mugs in yet! :evillaugh:
-
Mugs? :shify: did someone mention mugs? :shify: :shify:
Have just checked puter clock and it's running 6 seconds slower than Purrs site .............. puter needs sorting before 8pm on 2 Nov :scared:

The Mugs are mine :evillaugh:

Maybe.............. and then again maybe not :naughty:

Your kindness never fails to astound me Rosella :) Thanks for alerting me to this, my computer was nearly two minutes different so you can imagine what would have happend to all my bids. Thankfully I saw this and have managed to adjust my PC clock to be exactly the same, so thoughtful :naughty:
:thanks:
-
-
Don't worry Sheila, we have one less competitor due to you also being a kind soul and telling poor old Puffball it finished at midnight! :naughty:
-
ooh - hadn't thought of checking purrs clock v computer clock. thanks for the heads up ;) ;D
ETA - just checked and I am almost 25 seconds out! That 25 seconds could be crucial and could be just long enough to allow someone to steal my rightful items from under my nose!
-
Em stoopid is as stoopid does - how does one find the Purrs clock, please? :shy:
-
Em stoopid is as stoopid does - how does one find the Purrs clock, please? :shy:
Aaah, sorry - due to you having 5 vowels in your username then it will not be possible to make the amendment. Shame :naughty:
-
The Purrs clock is on the left at the top underneath where it says Welcome Sheila ;D
-
no clock and no welcome Shelia on my screen, Gill
must depend on settings, but what are they?

Can you see a plus sign top right under the shop logo? If you can see that click on it and it expands the welcome screen...
-
well, well - I've never seen that bit of Purrs before - fancy that
thanks, TM
-
You'll find the "show new replies to your posts" link particularly helpful to identify peeps bidding on your auction items Kay so you don't need to "notify" new posts .....
I'm the helpful kind of Moddy :) ..... beware of the wicked ones :scared: Of course, as usual, I will change into something altogether unrecognisable as 8pm on 2 December approaches
Have to say I rely completely on "view all unread posts". I think it was a comment from Gill that alerted me to that some time ago but am sure I had been a Purrs member for quite some time relying only on "recent posts" to see was happening which only has 10 pages which is not nearly enough for this addict :)
Hope Trigger continues to do well
-
well, well - I've never seen that bit of Purrs before - fancy that

Every day's a school day here on Purrs! :naughty:
-
unfortunately clicking on 'new replies' doesn't work for someone who did the round-up run, Rosella - or rather it works rather too well
Trigger is fine - having his final blood test soon, but am sure he is cured of his HT
-
Oh dear yes indeed Kay.......... that would be a problem :innocent: Bit like cat show time :evillaugh: Works fine for me atm :naughty:
So pleased that Trigger is doing so well :) :) :)
-
In the new posts you can now delete them either on mass or by ticking the little boxes and doing them individually or in blocks.
The best addition to Purrs with the new software   well unless you click the alll button when you meant to click the other ...............sigh
This only works in the new posts categories and not in indivudual places like general, rescue etc...........from there you lose all.

Dougie is trying to look casual, but I know he's getting excited at the prospect of all his new Christmas pressies :evillaugh:
My track record to date is a bit poor, the only thing I've ever won was a box of teabags which he was singularly unimpressed with ;)
-
Love it! :Luv: You can see the pent up tension in his body there :naughty:
-
He's like a coiled spring :)
-
You can clearly see that he's a cat in dire need of some oven gloves, tea-towels a wire sculpture and a pair of mugs :naughty:
-
He is gorgeous ;D
I hope you get him something nice ;)
-
I'll do my best to get him a couple of things :naughty:
-
Cannot find the clock :-: Clicked the plus sign but doesnt seem to be a clock help!
-
Left hand side towards the top should say "Hello angelinajolly" Look at second line under that for digital time ................
-
underneath where it says how many PMs you have - it has the date and the time
-
Got it! :thanks:
-
Oooo ya know I never thought if that either the diff between of clock and purrs clock! Can't change purrs clock as it take the time from the host's server can only change the hour difference form USA to UK.
No wonder I had trouble winning!
Hee hee not this year then :evillaugh:
-
Think we are all forewarned now :shify:

This is master Boris with his own black Magic and this is why he needs all thing thing Mummy is bidding on

I've had a request to find out postage to Norway from an international bidder but I won't be able to visit the post office until after the auction closes.... I'm in an all day meeting tomorrow and away for the weekend from early Friday morning. It will be a parcel rather than a letter and although not heavy I couldn't tell from the links Tan posted about international mail whether the size would qualify as a small package. It's the Simon's Cat soft toy, he's 10" tall so I've package him diagonally in a box thats maybe 8-9" sq, it's at work so this is from memory. The first class UK price is £2.70 so should I just add a couple of quid and sort the exact price later or advise them to bid anyway and if the postage is too much it will go to the second highest bidder?
-
Hi Hun
As long as its under 60 x 40 cm in size and under 2kg in weight it can go standard airmail so that ok:)
Then it depends on weight up to 100g is 2.70
Etc
Can ya weigh it on kit scales and I will give ya exact cost :)
X

If the first class UK price was £2.70 then that means he must weigh less than 750g sooooo if him plus the box weighed 750g it would be £6.62 to send to Norway. Unlike the UK prices overseas prices reduce as things get lighter eg if he weighed 500g including packaging he would be £4.82
It depends how much he weighs (and whether he has been recently fed :evillaugh: ) but he would be classed as a small packet as long as the length+width+height of the box didn't exceed 90cm (3 foot in old money) - info taken from here: http://web.anglia.ac.uk/estates/downloads/Airmail_Prices_A4_11.pdf
Dimensions
Please note that the maximum dimensions are smaller than those for our UK services. For letters and packages, the length plus the width plus the height of the item must be no greater than 90cm, with no single dimension greater than 60cm

-
Awww I've posted my last auction lot... feel kinda sad :(
There's always a certain other Auction site you can flog stuff on -
Wait a minute - we could always extend the Auction after this one? Maybe set up a rolling Purrs auction for stuff folk want to shift but want the value to come to Purrs Registered Rescues through the year.
Tan, TAN??? What do you think? A rolling Purrs auction? Hmmm? E-Purr?
-
There will be no rolling auction LOL
We have deliberately kept it to one a year cos thats the best way to bring in as much money as possible and not clash with other fund raisers.
Also the work involved behind the scenes is absolutely enormous.
Which reminds me Tan, have you sent the SS back cos its needed :shify: :shify:
-
In that case, Louise, we'll sell all our junk on e-pay then send the cash to Purrs.
I'm gonna do it, I am. :shify:
That better Gill? :briggin:
-
Hi all just wanted to know if it is too late to put somthing on the auction ? or will it still be ok ?
Den xx
-
Please do, not too late at all.Three more days to go.
We love new things :naughty:
-
Yes Sheila ;D
-
Great ;D Thanks sheila x
Den x
-
Apologies all but I cant read the whole thread so may be asking something thats been asked before. What is the end date please? I got something today but havent had the brain to list it so if I list tomorrow is that still ok?
love
Tab
-
Hi Tab the end date is Sunday 2nd of Dec.I am sure tomorrow is ok
Yey more new things :innocent:
Pav x
-
Pav is right and items can be added right up to 1800 on 2 dec, the auction finishes at 2000 so best to get on tomorrow asap ;D
-
has the round-up been cancelled for today?
-
Not as far as I know but dont know who is doing it, I only just came on.
-
Bronagh and Tan on the schedule - it's too late for me to help out, I'm afraid, and probably most other volunteers
-
Thats the person who didnt turn up last time and Tan maybe busy just now and on later!
I cant do anything about it grrrrrrrrrr
-
Hi hunnies so sorry just left message in our rota section. Just got back from working in Bournemouth and I completely forgot it was my turn tonight :-[
Don't worry about it tonight and i will help out morrow
-
I did wonder why there weren't 44 extra spam in my messages this morning :evillaugh:
:smack:
-
PAYING FOR STUFF? I might have missed this already somewhere down there :scared:
but just thinking ahead... :shify:
The Purrs Bank Account - I already have a direct payment set up from my bank from last year's auction - but can you confirm if the account details are still the same, please?
I know you can't post the Purrs account number on here, but just so's I know it's the same as last year then I can use the same payment method this time. :shy:
I seem to remember it took a few days for my money to get through to the Purrs account last year because setting up the Direct Transfer wasn't as quick as I'd hoped, so if changes need to be made I'd rather get on and make them this side of the week-end. :-[
Thanks :)
-
I think it is usually the same details
-
I will pm you Sheila
-
I need to know too please
-
Adult cats can view the details here :shify:
http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,26334.msg461781.html#msg461781
Kittens can PM (private message) a moderator for the info :)
Paying for your items via bank transfer or cheque means there are no fees to pay as paypal charges 3.4% plus 20p for each transaction. In previous years the lovely buyers have often added a chunk to their payment to cover the paypal fees so that all money raised can go to those who need it most - the Paws Inn cats and kittens ;D
-
:thanks: same as last year
-
Yup Purrs bank is always the same :)
I will be popping up info re the end of the Auction tomorrow which will give info on how to pay etc and info for auctioneers when to send items out.
One important point for the Auctioneers is ... It's very important items aren't sent out early before we know that payment for the winning bid has been received. This is our security for the Auction so if the winning bidder doesn't manage to pay then no goods are sent to them. If that happens the item will then be offered to the runner up bidder :)
;D
-
I need to put a block on the auction site - Thai is bidding - she's been on the catnip today and is out of control :Luv:
-
-
OK Gloves are off, chaps.
24 hours to go, I'm up for it. Are you?
:r u chicken
C'mon, lets do some good :cheer: :car: :luck:
-
Can I just say what a pleasure it's been seeing the sponsorship banners for the delightful sponsors of Purrs Auction? I've discovered the most wonderful websites and relocated old friends that I'd shamefully forgotten about. Brilliant stuff! :)
-
Yes the sponsor banners have been wonderful as have the wonderful sponsors ;D ;D ;D
My heartfelt thanks goes to them all
and to all of you who have joined in bidding and Auctioning
and to the Staff behind doing all the behind scenes work
without all of you we couldn't do this at all :Luv: you are all my hero's :Luv:
-
Its nice to see that there is going to be a bidding war at 14.55pm this afternoon
I think Aunty T would be sitting with her fingers ready for the stuff for Paws Inn and she would be so happy that even in this time of recession us lovely slightly mad Cat folks have gone the extra mile for her wonderful babies
-
items can be added right up to 1800 on 2 dec, the auction finishes at 2000 ;D
Just thought this was worth re-quoting in case Liz is trying to throw us all off the scent :shify:
-
  good one Liz hun yes definitely on the igloo it's 14.55pm :evillaugh: ;)
yup get ya last bid in before 20.00 hrs 8pm on the dot by the Purrs clock tonight ;D
-
This is For Our T up there with all her passed furbabes :Luv: :Luv: and for all the babes that her legacy will help through the wonderful staff at Paws Inn.
Bet she is shouting down for one of the beds as she always loved to get them in for the rescue babes :Luv: :Luv: :evillaugh:
-
Ya know it gets exciting getting towards the end so see the great frantic bids at the end :evillaugh:
but also sad cause another year of it is over :( and I do so enjoy the auction :Luv:
-
I think of the auction as the Gateway to Christmas, Tan. Everything begins with the auction - my Christmas shopping, my Christmas cards, my tree decorations, my festive spirit. :drink:
Without the auction, I sort of stumbled into Christmas but now, well, this IS where it's at!
Thank you Purrs, for my Christmas starting pistol. ;D :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:
-
I agree Sheila - it sort of focuses's the mind doesn't it and once you've got into the spirit that's it - no turning back.
-
 I have to admit into wanting to shut off with work for Xmas two weeks ago as me Crimbo excrement came and well ya no work at crimbo if ya can!!
-
 I have to admit into wanting to shut off with work for Xmas two weeks ago as me Crimbo excrement came and well ya no work at crimbo if ya can!!
 TMI ALERT! Hope that was a typo Tan, I'm also hoping my Christmas movements are a bit closer to the event :-:
-

-

I must admit I've lost track of what I'm bidding on and even when I try to search for a particular thread I struggle to find it!
-
yes the bumping up thing has totally baffled me I have no idea what I'm in for now!
-

I must admit I've lost track of what I'm bidding on and even when I try to search for a particular thread I struggle to find it!
Oooh Oooh I can help! ;D
I discovered the "search" button up there :innocent: you just type in a key word like (God help me here) "Tea Towel" and up the thread pops - magic! Go find your long lost thread and BUY BUY BUY!!! :donate2:
-
Yes but that doesn't help if you can't remember what you bid on or the exact words used to name or describe it!
-
Sheila, thanks for the tip :Luv: I've been going cross-eyed trying to read down the items to find my ones!
-
I find the search a bit hit and miss, sometimes it brings up nothing, other times hundreds of posts with that word in!
My PACA tip from the top is to be on the auction page then press Ctrl + F, then type your word in the box and bingo :wow: It only works on words in the title though so you have to try and remember how it was described!
-
Oh yes! Not sure what PACA means but Ctrl + F is your friend
-
PACA = Purrs Annual Christmas Auction :naughty:
-
Nuver tip near end is to have all ya items open in sep tabs in ya browser and post fast on each
-
 I have to admit into wanting to shut off with work for Xmas two weeks ago as me Crimbo excrement came and well ya no work at crimbo if ya can!!
 TMI ALERT! Hope that was a typo Tan, I'm also hoping my Christmas movements are a bit closer to the event :-:
Ha ha ha oops spell check didn't work then that was meant to say excitement ! Hahaha
-
Quick everyone go to the lol now lol
-
has purrs suddenly gone slow or is that just me?
-
its you!
-
 crash time
-
:shify: :shify: it's speeded up a bit now. It had better not slow down again, at least not for the next 6 mins!!
-
It's over!! I need to go and calm down and make a cup of coffee before I do anything, including looking to see if my final bids were late enough!
-
That was quite exciting :D and I was only bidding on 3 things in the end...:)
-
Loads of final bids missed the cut sadly.
Wow what an auction and thank you everyone who has been bidding like crazy, I know we have beaten our target :wow: :wow: :wow:
-
Just missed out on mine cos puter decided to play up at the last minute :( never mind well done to all :Luv:
-
no idea what i ended up with! can't believe stuart was bidding against a fellow man on a promise!!
-
:evillaugh: :evillaugh: that was great I almost wet me self
thank gowd for tena'S
-
:wow:
HURRRAH!! I got the pretend bear skin throw!! (I hope...)
AT LAST- it's taken me three years but finally a winning bid ;D
Fantastic event as always. Well done and thanks :Luv:
-
no idea what i ended up with! can't believe stuart was bidding against a fellow man on a promise!!
  poor Rob
-
I think I might have spent a lot of money. :innocent:
-
serves ya right :evillaugh: :evillaugh:
-
Nooooo! Am gonna have to get myself a pc and wi fi specifically for next years auction - its useless trying to use my mobile! >:(
-
That was great! I was very restrained this year but I got the lovely broach I fell in love with, and a couple of other goodies.
Plus, I'm over the moon with how much A Streetcat Named Bob made! :wow:
-
I think I may need to break in to the kids emergency food fund but hopefully we have got some things for their Daddy for Baku so it feels like home
Also I think if we got everything the Boris wanted we will have one happy little kitten and lots of grumpy adults
-
Lord love a duck, catladies and auctions make up quite the overwhelming combination
I didn't even get through my bid list, and I have no idea as to if I won anything - or what.
But what an introduction to the world of Purrs :Luv:
-
moving this over to general board for now so you can all still chat on it
then when auction thread is back will move it back in there :)
-
So pleased you enjoyed it Mel and think we have made loads os dosh ;D ;D
-
My heart has just about returned to normal - that was nerve wracking stuff, but looks like I got 2 wins. (Both for my darling girls). was getting really nervous towards the end as I was convinced I'd lose out at the last minute as the two I won were hard fought over.
I'd only watched the auction in previous years, and this was the first time I'd actually taken part, but can't wait for next years!!
well done Purrs team for all your hard work.
-
yes well done all the back room folks it was fab!
-
I think we are as obsessed with the auction as our cats
Well done to all the backroom folks and to Gill for keeping us up to date with totals
-
Its so grreat that people love this auction and so much money is raised ;D
When the spread sheet is updated I will put up a provisional total and am sure its gonna be great :wow:
Its my first year sitting on the sidelines and just helping with advice but think that the auction staff have done stupendous work :wow: :wow:
-
:welcome: to Purrs melbell, apologies if I was mean to you if you were outbidding me on anything :evillaugh: I blame auction fever :evillaugh:
KIPA - so pleased you joined in this year and that you got your wins :wow:
As for me, there was just waaaaaay too much stuff this year - it was impossible to focus on all the things I wanted and get the last minute bids in so I missed out on quite a few things I was interested but the main things is that we have all raised a humungous amount for the cats and kittens of Paws Inn - three cheers for Purrs people!
-
It was a fabulous year and I did get carried away but I managed to get (I think :scared: ) a couple of lovely Christmas pressies for cats and humans. Thanks to all involved, organisers, sellers and buyers :Luv2:
-
Encore! Encore!
Oooh my poor heart :faint:
Thank you everyone who made this whole thing happen. :thanks:
I have no idea what I've won but I do know I was pipped by Ange on some food - but my last minute bid tactics didn't work this year as I lost connection in the last minute
Hope I got one of the Igloo toilets for Pursley, and I may have won a sweet piece of jewellery for myself :shy: Anything else, frankly, would be a miracle. :innocent:
-
Thank you every one , it was great fun and agree with Helen the main thing was to raise lots of Pennies for Paws inn kitties. Cant wait to read the final figure.
Thank you
-
I am sure Anuty T is sitting with all our Bridge babies and thinking they get worse with the last minute bids and the manic rush
We have also raised a wonderdul amount for Paws Inn Aunty T's legacy so it is a bitter sweet time all round but I think she would be very proud of us ;D
-
Encore! Encore!
Oooh my poor heart :faint:

Oh Sheila, i think i won one of the Igloo things :-: I was after a bed or self heating beds to send to Paws inn kitties for Christmas but it seems with all the excitment and rush i bid on the wrong item.
We are more than happy to let Pursley have the Igloo , thats if you want it :)
PM me if you do.x
-
Pav, you are such a sweet woman, lets see who got what, then we can do a little negotiation afterwards, maybee. I know there were three igloos on, so maybe I still got one :)
-
I got one igloo but that sneaky Tan may have number 3
-
That was nerve wracking! I ended up bidding against myself on one item as I was so determined to get it I couldn't risk someone sneaking in last minute and stealing it from under my nose!!
-
:thanks: :Luv:
It was great to follow this auction event, and I am in awe of the immense effort that has been put into this!
Such a great activity - and such a good cause :Luv2:

-
Hi ya folks ... I have very limited access to the internet ... but don't worry I'll make sure I get all your winnings sent out ASAP. I can't really update threads etc as I am having to do sneaky bits at work :shify: but as long as I have your address you can rest assured I'm on the case :-)
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who took part in the auction .... this years total is amazing and it really warms the heart to know that even in these difficult financial times there are still alot of folk out there willing to do a bit for charity whether that's the generosity of the sponsors or the wonderful forum members who bid on the items.
Thank you everyone
-
Hi hunnies
sent some stuff out and sending all rest tomorrow. Sorry fo delay it's manic on the shops and tons of orders coming in so trying to get as much done as poss

-
I have stopped bumping Tans items up as they going out tomorrow LOL
Am bumping up Sams cos I dont know if they have been sent or received but if you receive items please write on threads so they can be locked, :thanks:
-
I'm back with a vengeance! Finally managed to fit my new keyboard on the laptop so I am now in full working order again! Apologies for the delay in getting everything sent out this year ... it's a bleedin' pain not having internet access and having to send a load of boxes via courier. I will be sorting all the courier boxes out this week so by Saturday everything will be sent out.
Next challenge is getting 7 big boxes (each weighing 7 kg) in my little car to get them to the courier drop off place  ) .... I think in might be a couple of journeys ;)
-
Thabks very much Sam ;D
How do you get a new keyboard on a lappy, well really I would just like to get under the mouse pad........sigh
-
Thabks very much Sam ;D
How do you get a new keyboard on a lappy, well really I would just like to get under the mouse pad........sigh
Easy peasy Gill .... take out a couple of screws from the underneath of the lappy, pop out the old keyboard, connect the new keyboard, pop it in place and rescrew! Ta da ... lappy worjing again. Needless to say I won't be leaving any mugs of tea near it anymore and the ferret is banned from the room
-

Not sure its that easy on my lappy!
I have an old one that was working and now isnt and need a new cmos battery, any other lappy it would be easy but of course not mine grrrrrrrrrrrrr
Ban the ferret
-
mmmmm this might help ya ;) http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000239.htm
-
Thanks for the link Sam but unfortunately the cmos battery is at least two layers down so not straight forward and am scared to lose the info that I wanted to access when the bloomin thing died.
-
We are this close | | to a final total and have one cheque not received yet, one payment outstanding or not identfied and one payment not identified. It would be so good if the last two were the same.
I soooooooooooo want to put up the final total :wow: :wow:
Seems like items are being posted and recieved quite well, the post a bit slow but.................
-
hope all the money is sorted soon, would be nice to get it to paws inn
-
Oooo cant wait to know what the final total is! :wow:
