Title: I think I will be saying goodbye to Zeta tomorrow -RIP darling Zeta

She has become increasingly frail these past months, lost so much weight,  and although she is still eating her appetite isnt brilliant and she just looks so tired. She had a couple of lumps removed last year and she did rally after that, but she has more lumps and now she is drinking a lot too. I've made an appointment for tomorrow morning, but I think I know what the outcome is going to be. :( She's 17 and I adopted her nearly 5 yrs ago (along with Jasper) when their owner died.

She's gone  :'(  Discussed options with my vet, to do further tests (thyroid and kidneys) but given her age and the likliehood that any treatment is probably only going to give her a few months at most, I made the decision, she went very peacefully. When she first came to me after her owner had died I had the devil of a job to get her to eat, mum was here a few days after I'd got her and offered Zeta a piece of dry food from her hand - which she readily ate - later found out that her elderly owner had hand fed her most of the time! I did get her to eat from a plate eventually, but it took a bit of time  :)

Last year I took Zeta over to visit my mum when she was still in her flat. Mum had been in and out of hospital and was then housebound, so hadnt been able to see the cats for a long time. Zeta made herself completely at home, sat on mum's lap and seeing how happy it made mum was priceless.

Thanks so much everyone for your kind words  :thanks: I know it was the right thing to do and I had sort of prepared myself for it, but still hard to make that decision.

I missed her not being around for the 'marmite fix' earlier, she was always first in the kitchen for that lol!  :Luv:

So sorry to hear your news.  It is always hard when one is missing from your cat family.  Well done for thinking of her and not trying to give her a few more months on this Earth when she had perhaps started to become tired.  :(
