Title: Vet Bedding
Post by: Teresa Pawcats on January 05, 2011, 17:33:23 PM
Time to replace the Paws Inn vet bedding and need to find a new supplier. We buy in bulk, usually 5 or 10 metre rolls and cut them to size, the pieces we use are approx 3ft by 2ft so it doesnt matter whether we go for roll or ready cut pieces, Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good supplier, cost is important but quality more so. Thankyou.

I bought mine from Bronte Glen (although that was just a 100 x 75cm piece which I cut up for the carriers).  According to their website they do 1.5 metres rolls - x 5 metres = £94; x 10 metres = £155.  No problems with ordering or dellivery.

 :)

Thanks Francis, thats where I got my last roll from, its been really good but I have had recent problems and really feel like trying somewhere new, think ready cut pieces might be good.

Don't know if this one is any good, I was looking for vet bed too a while back and came across this site. Don't know how the prices compare.

I saw loads of this the other day on Amazon  - no idea about the prices but you could key in vet bedding and see what you think.

I just read the review - didn't realise there was so much to know about vet bed

The ebay reviewer is the same company as the beddingbox you linked to but cheaper to buy from them on ebay than through their own site. A 5m x 1.5m roll is £69 delivered which compared to the price at the Bronte Glen place (never heard of it!) - £94 - looks very good.

Edit: It says in the listing that they can also cut the roll down to the sizes you want if you want it in seperate pieces.

Yes, I think that was how I found the beddingbox site because of their review - didnt realised it was cheaper to buy from them on ebay than their own site though!

The thing that puts me off that one is when you read the ebay page it says it washes at 40C whereas the Petlife and Bronte Glen vet beds can be washed at much higher temperatures.

T: What recent probs have you had with the Bronte Glen vet bed? I was going to order a roll from them so would be interested to hear your thoughts on it.

Lottie I bought my roll from Bronte Glen over 4 years ago and in truth had excellent heavy use, however recently it began to fray in a dangerous way forming circles of thread which we didnt notice and Claire went out to summerhouse in time to find kitten trapped tight in cotton and almost strangled, any longer he would have been dead. For this reason I am looking elsewhere and yesterday afternoon took the extravagant action of ordering 24 pre cut pieces just to be safe in my mind. Will report back when they arrive.

Thats only the no-slip version - the normal vet bed you can wash hotter.

Thanks T for the info, I am so glad the little one is ok. I've never bought a roll before but as I need to get 5 pieces of 1.5m x 1m I thought a roll would be a bit cheaper but I think now that I might just buy it precut to hopefully avoid fraying issues.
