Hi all
I am looking to adopt 2 cats and would appreciate some help/ advice please.
I lost my 2 elderley kitties a month ago, and I am now looking to rehome 2 cats.
I have a 5 month old baby girl, so cats who would be ok with her are a must. For this reason I am thinking that young adults would be a better fit than 2 little kittens? What do you think?
I live on a cul-de-sac with a strip of waste ground on one side and houses/ gardens on the other. The garden is huge and relatively enclosed (ie. a young cat could probably jump the fences if they tried hard enough). I have always kept my kitties in after dark/ overnight and would continue this.
I dont work ATM (mat leave until the end of the year) and then will only return p/t, and I will only leave them for 3/4 hours a day max.
Any help appreciated!!

Hi Lisa, firstly I'm sorry to hear about your 2 cats, that must have been a very sad time for you. I recently lost my old girl too
Have you contacted any rescues in your area? here is a list: http://www.catchat.org/adoption/staffs.html
I don't know whether we have any rescue members round your area, they may be along soon with some suggestions, best of luck :)

Sorry to hear about Cleo's sister, must have been devastating for you to lose them both :(
So pleased you have room in your heart for another lucky pair  There's two 15 month old brothers looking for a home on CatChat, they're in Wolverhampton. Cat Chat pages don't seem to have direct links but it's Cat Rescue & Rehoming>Two 15mth old brothers need a home ~ Wolverhampton

definately think an older pair would be better than kittens. At least then you can ensure they are baby friendly.

Hi all
I am sorted now :)
I am having 1 kitty tomorrow via Cats Protection, a little 12 month old tabby. She is called Milly and is adorable. I'll see how she settles and then will have another soon after.

How exciting for you ;D Is she on the CP website so we can have a sneak preview? :naughty:

Yes!

I hope the link works. Milly is on the bottom right (page 7 if the link doesnt work)
so cute.

;D That's lovely news! Milly looks lovely.

What a little cutie! :Luv2: Let us know how she settles in :)

will do, thanks. Gorgeous aint she! She has got a huge fluffy tail too, she looks more like an oversized squirrel than a cat!
I'm off to Pets at Home to spend lots of money on her today, lol, then we are picking her up when hubby finishes work tomorrow afternoon. I cant wait!

Make sure your camera batteries are charged :pic: Maybe she could have her very own thread in general as not many people look in this section unless they're trying to rehome a cat - wouldn't want to deprive other members of seeing her pics and hearing how she's settling in :naughty:
I think you'll be surprised how 'manic' youngsters can be if you're used to elderly ladies :evillaugh:

It would be a good idea to start a new thread in Cat's Stories about Milly ;D I can keep this thread open until you get your other new addition then will move to sorted section once you let us know that your family is complete :Luv:

Thanks both
I'll start a 'Milly' thread later this week. Please keep this thread open til i get number 2.
And Hel, I think you're right, I will be in for a shock with a young cat around !! Lol
