The Cat Show 2010 is approaching, all money raised will be distributed between our registered rescues ;D
It will be £1 per picture entered in any class, so one picture entered in 3 Classes will be £3 :sneaky:
The Classes this year will be as follows:
Class 1 LOLcats with a caption
Class 2 Tails and Trousers
Class 3 Noses and Ears
Class 4 What lovely Paws you have
Class 5 Black, White and Black and White cats
Class 6 Red, Tortie and with White bits cats (includes calico torties)
Class 7 Blue, Blue and White and Colour pointed cats
Class 8 Tabbies of all varieties and with White
Class 9 Moggies
Class 10 Pedigrees
Class 11 Playful cats
Class 12 Lazy cats
Voting will be as follows:
All Classes
Semi Final
Final
As the top cat can come from any class it would be very nice if the cats in classes 1 - 4 could have a head in too :rofl: :rofl: cos otherwise it would be hard to get further than winner of your class, having said this, go on prove me wrong :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh:
You can enter as many classes as you like, with the same picture as long as it appropriate to the class title, voting will be done by the membership of Purrs.
Every year I try to make this as simple to understand as possible and totally miscalculate :rofl: so hope I am better this year :shify: :shify:
So now the message is to collect your pictures and £1s and wait for details of submission :wow:
The result of the Cat Show will be Mid- Summers Eve, yes we are getting that close to Mid-Summer.........sigh and an awful lot of work to cram in before then :innocent:

Time is moving on and pictures need to be gathered so thought you needed to see the Classes for the year of 2010 ;D
I could nt sleep so thought I would try and get tired away from all the fur in my bed........Misa, Franta and Ducha cos was itching!
Escape you gotta be joking! Now have velcrocat Franta betrween me and lappy, Sasa and Misa are stretched out on the floor, just Ducha upstairs now :rofl: :rofl:
I think the classes will allow pictures of all the categories suggested wayyyyyyyyyyyy back in March and hope we will have a huge entry this year.
Franta says why cant we have a class for the deepest purr cos I would win..............told him purrs dont show up in photos and he said thats no excuse :rofl:
My goodness Misa is rushing around like a loonybin! I also have elephants on the stairs............sigh

I havent worked out the date the show will start yet lol but around mid may I think, so you still got a couple of weeks to get pics sorted out.
As soon as I have got the dates sorted I will let you all know, just dont leave it until the last minute to get your pics sorted cos it takes a lot of work to set show up behind scenes before its start :innocent:

I've had that a lot - tho I do have a fab multi-tailed pic!

I have all my pictures ready and waiting! I LOVE my noses and ears picture, but it has proved impossible to get a trousers and tails picture, Benji's tail just never stays still, it is constantly twitching (apparently due to his old back injury) so all the pictures are blurry!

Don't worry KC, at this stage there is nothing to know, we're just all part of the furniture so were here for the show last year :evillaugh:
Keep an eye on this thread for when full details and links will be posted. Gill can advise better but I think we have a whole child board set up for the cat show don't we?

Dont worry KC, its just many of us have been doing these cat shows for last 3 or 4 years LOL.
In the first post it gives you this years classes, which I always give before anything else so you can get your photos sorted out.
Its £1 per photo for entry and I am going to work out the entry date and start of Show date etc tonight while watching election results LOL
I expect entries to be open almost immediately because there is so much work to do behind the scenes but will post all the needed info for entry probably tonight.
If you have any specific questions please post here or pm me and I will try to help.
Pictures will need to come to me resized to 650pixels on longest side but no small pics please cos we need to see that cat :rofl: :rofl:
If you cant send resized pics then just send me what you have and I will resize, addy to be supplied in my opening Show post ;D
You will not see any of pics on site until the opening day of the Show and I probably will still be setting it up till mins before opening LOL

I've been busy taking loads of pictures and can't decide on which one is the nicest :) Will we be able to enter more than one picture for the same class and if you can will it be voted on the best photo or the cat in general? I'm another Cat Show newbie!

yes its pretty open, you can enter as many pictures as you like in any class, or the same picture in more than one class as long as pics meet the class description and its £1 for every picture entered in any class, even if its the same picture ;D
Its meant to be a cat show not a photo show but obviously the better your pics the better your cat is seen by others...........so we always hope the best cat wins and its the one that Purrs members vote for that will win..............and they can be very unpredictable lol :innocent:
Have to say that the voting is the hardest part and trying to pick your best x cats is really hard. :scared:

did you get mine? I re-sent them with a different email address, but I had to convert the pictures to pdf to attach them and it took ages to send, so I hope you got them! my other email address conveniently puts picture attachments into the email automatically. :Crazy:

well I messed up as I forgot to take the USB stick home from work so wasn't able to put any photos on it. That's the only way I can save them so that I can email them from work. So I'm afraid I will be last minute as usual and will have to email them on monday morning.

Well its nearly here and ummmmmm a bit difficult this year but have had a great helper,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Thank you so much Rosella you have been a star :hug: :hug:.....she has resized and put on captions and got more pictures than me..............ummmmm thats another story :rofl: :rofl:
Tan will kick in with her bit on Sunday and I am trying to post the pics up as fast as the lappy will allow, which was exceeding slowly last nigh. Was falling asllep waiting for the picture to arrive :innocent:
Because of not being very well I feel I have got into a bit of a muddle seem to have lost about 20 pics but dont worry I will find them again so to make sure every cat is in the class that was asked for and that all cats are actually there, please watch for the Show to be opened so you can have a gander and pm me if I have something wrong......perish the thought :shify: :shify:
1 June is Tuesday and hope to do this Sunday or Monday, the threads will be locked so you cant vote but you can drooland have a cackle at the lolcats which is the biggest class ;D Only just cos thinks its lazy cats that is nearly as big...................strange that :rofl: :rofl
There are some absolutely stunning cats this year,,,,,,,,,,well I mean all the cats are stunning and they were in all the other cats shows.......................getting coat!
Voting will be a bit different this year as it will be different in some classes so you have to READ the instructions.....that should be a new experience ;) ;) ;) :-[

The reason for this unprecidented move is because I am not 100% sure that every picture is there and in right class. :scared:

Each of the classes has a different amount of votes ie the first category you are allowed 10 votes as there's lots of pics but the second category you only have 4 votes. So keep your eyes peeled at the top for how many votes you get in that section ;D
I messed up on one section and was agonising over which pics to choose, I chose three and then saw I would have had 4 votes but it doesn't let you go back :doh:

Thought I'd repeat that ....... thanks Helen. I've used all my votes and that was the easy round :scared: :scared: :scared: I had a terrible trouble with Class 11!

Well I have messed up with the voting. As time was short yesterday, I went through and voted but didn't use up all my votes and thought it would let me go back in and vote again (until I'd reached the max no. of votes) but it doesn't. Not sure why I thought it would. So in some classes I have only voted for 1 or 2 and I even left poor Jaffa out in one class :-[ Sorry Jaf! :Luv:

Its so sad to see cats that didnt reach the semi but please remember every cat is gorgeous and got voted for but some just got more votes than others, one of my special favourites did not come through but still just adore her ;D
The two semi finals will have 29 cats in each and you will have only 8 votes! The top 8 cats will go from each semi into the final and blow me , then you will only get 3 votes :innocent:
Sooooooo onward to the results and then the next round of voting and it just gets harder and harder, who is going to become Purrs Top Cat 2010 I wonder :wow:

I have just posted about 12 cats into semis at mo and to pick 6 out of them is gonna be crazy and there are another over 12 to go in yet............... :Crazy: :Crazy: :Crazy:
The standard this year is incredibly high and yes every cat in the show was a winner ;D

Wow, it took me ages to find where the results were :-[ Now I've seen, them, Pepsi says a big thankyou to everyone who voted for her in her first Cat Show, she's very flattered to be through to the semis ;D
I can't even imagine how hard the next round is going to be, all the cats have been absolute stars so far and all deserve to win!

Wow all cats are in their semi final places and just polls to do, so voting will commence on schedule on 12 June. ;D
I ummmmmmmmmmmm miscounted the cats into the semi final so we have 30 in Semi Final One and 31 in Semi Final Two :innocent:
Ignore every thing I said before about numbers lol. :evillaugh:
The Final will contain 16 cats and eight cats will go through from each semi, you will have only 8 votes in each semi :shify: :shify:
This is going to make voting very difficult I reckon, so choose your votes well ;D
Before I forget, yes there is the same picture of one cat in each semi and this is right, and there is also the same picture of another in each semi but one is a lolcat the other not.................you didnt want it to be easy , did you :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

This is all getting a bit exciting :wow:. Have been telling anyone that will listen that our babes have entered a cat show on t'internet raising much needed funds for cat rescues :)

I think this is a great way of making money , its just sad that more peeps dont enter and vote, especially vote cos as you now know Rosella, this little cat show takes an immense amount of time and effort to run ;D
Ok I would need an army of helpers now to run it if it was as big as the early ones cos now there are so many ways of sending pictures lol.

l have a problem in Semi Final 2 cos have one cat in twice but both with same name and no number, I cant tell whether peeps voted for the right one, all others where I made a mistake their owners told me and was corrected very quickly but sadly not this one which has run right thro to the end :-[
I need peeps who voted for Poot in 2nd semi to pm me with the number of the picture you intended to vote for and you have 24 hours to do this, you may have voted for both but I need to know that too.
Poot 1 is the head picture from Class 3 Noses and ears
Poot 2 is the whole cat lying on the floor with a banana from Class 5 Black and Whites etc

Thank you for those few who replied about Poot and their votes and based on those few its gone with how I thought it should , so am going to make the decision based on that and apologize igf it wasnt the way that all the voters went but cant wait any longer for all the rest to reply :(
Tan is away very busy so cant get the rossettes on the top 3 cats but once she is available again, I will get her to put them on so you can take a copy for yourselves ;D
I will put the pictures of the top 3 in each semi and the other cats going through to the final, some time tonight ;D
