Title: Sometimes I wonder why we worry
Post by: Baggy on February 13, 2010, 16:20:51 PM
Came home yesterday and Dougie wasn't in his usual spot.  As we were home early figured he must be outside, and would turn up when he saw the lights on.  30 mins later, no sign .  OH noticed his food hadn't been touched, so had probably been outside for a long time which is unusual.  Waited nother half hour, and then decided to go out looking for him.

Wandered round the nieghbourhood, rattling our packet of Dreamies to no avail.  Came in and ate our tea, trying not to get too worried.  An hour later, went out, Dreamies at the ready.

Hear a voice at the bottom of the garden:

"Are you looking for a grey and white cat?"
"Yes!"
"He's just coming through the hole in the fence now, he's been asleep under our tortoise's heat lamp!" :innocent:

Cue one Dougie, looking slightly dishevelled but quite pleased with himself!

Typical cat !
I occasionally let Winston out the front and if he hasn''t come back in 15mins i shout him , if he hasn''t come back in another 5 mins , i go look for him.
Yesterday i shouted and no sign , walked round the houses calling him -no sign ( last seen sat in front garden watching a neighbours cat on my 12 ft wall .
I though he may have gone with this cat as that had gone too -but no sign in their garden .

By now it was over 40mins and no sign - i go round again , bottom of street looking and calling -imagining allsorts that couldn''t have possibly happened - go back to neighbours house as i spot tabby cat ( Benny) on his porch - looked down -Winston sat inside porch . Went to get him to come home , opened neighbours gate and Winston used some very bad language to me and walked out the gate and home - obviously i was spoiling his fun !!
Only trouble is i don''t know if he wants to be friends with this cat (very unusual !) or if he is intimidating it !?

My friends have two tortoises and they took these photos a while ago when they were trying to clean everything for them.
