Tyler is booked to get a Dental on Friday but i am slightly worried as she has a murmour on the left of her heart, the vet said she will sound her before she decides if she will do it but said it can still be risky and i should be aware of that
I know if its to risky they wont do it but i am still really scared if they do the dental and something happens to her. Not sure if i am being over paranoid . She does need her dental done. I have read there is scales of murmours and not sure what she is, The vet said i have to wait with her til they check her over and not to just drop her off in the morning like they usually ask people to do
Am i over paranoid???
Not sure if i just being silly because of everything with Ollie, I was in tears talking to my OH about it as scared
-
Its always a worry when our babes have to have an op, so you're not being paranoid, just a good meowmy
I'm sure your vet will thoroughly check Tyler before going ahead with the dental. There are always risk with an anaesthetic, but there are risks in not having the dental done too, so try not to worry
-
Not paranoid - normal!
Having been through a dental and a spey on 2 of our ferals this week can sympathise - ours both came through the otherside yesterday and now love us again - Pebbles is on his Daddies knee and Indie is outcold on the futon having consumed some Dreamies and vets in one peice to!
Will be thinking of you and Tyler on Friday
-
Any operation is bound to make you worry but your vet is aware of Tyler's heart problems so I'm sure they will be super careful
Let us know how she gets on
-
   Im sure she will be okay! ;)
-
 its always a worry when they have to go in and more so with an existing problem.
Lola will need a dental soon but after her lung problems she is a higher risk candidate :scared:
Good luck for tomorrow, the worst bit starts tonight - no food!!
-
I am sure the vet will take lots of care and I believe you have a good vet, dont you?
How old is tyler cos if a senior cat should go on a drip too.

What she said ;)
Blip had a dental last week - three teeth out - and she was right as rain the very same evening! Modern anaesthetics and drugs are a wonderful thing and, with cats just as us humans, can be adjusted for individuals with specific problems
-
Good to hear that,
Tyller is 6 years old the same as Ollie as they are brother and sister
Yeah Gill i think the vet is great and she promised me if she thinks its way to risky she wont do it
The food part is really hard i feel like the worlds worst Mummy tonight as she has her little sweet cry every 5 mins and the min i walk to the kitchen she cries and runs at about a hundred miles an hour as she thinks she is getting her din dins
Glad to see positive notes. I think i just worry as this is the first major thing she has had since she got neutered and when she got neutered she was not to well after the anesthetic.
She will get loads of cuddles when she is home and i will be a worried Mummy all day.
Ollie going to vet tomoro for more blood tests and hopefully his meds reduced
Took the full day of work as i will be a nervous Mummy
Thanks everyone for the support. nobody i know understands they just think i am crazy. Not really spoke to mum about it as she still reallly upset at loosing her we dog Wee
Will update you tomoro on Tyler and hopefully good news with Ollies meds
xxxxxxxx

Positive vibes being sent for Tyler's dental!
-
Hope all goes well - I'm sure it will most of my oldies with many health issues have had dentals and been fine
-
Thanks everyone. Tyler is not a happy girl today think she thinks i have forgotten about her and not given her din dins.
From what everyone says i am sure she will be fine, guess all us fur Mummys just worry
Think i was just over worrying with Ollie being sick recently and Mums dog passing away.
She will be spoilt rotten when she comes gome
Thanks again everyone, I just love the Purrs site xxxx
-
:luck: for today, not that she'll need it - before you know it she'll be home and milking it for all it's worth
-
You are so right Helen. She will definately be milking it, her little cries have changed from her normal ones just now to the sweetest cry ever. think she thinks i will give in and give her food if she has a little sweet cry. Unfortunately for her that wont be happening til she is home
glad they will do x rays and tests on her heart while she is in for her teeth. Best getting it all out the way at once. I am sure the bill will be interesting but she is worth every penny
-
Good luch :luck:
-
Best of luck for today  xxx
-
good luck - I remember being scared when Star went in, she was fine of course
-
Thats Tyler dropped off at the vets now after chasing her around trying to get her in her box
The vet sounded her heart and is relatively confident she will be ok apart from the usual risks
Will find out how she is at 1.40pm when Ollie goes for his blood tests.
He is currently wondering about the house seaching for Tyler. Poor we soul. Well me and Ollie will cuddle up on the couch today and wait for his sister
-
Oh hun its always a worry, and you will be worried untill the phone rings to say he's ok. Hope everything goes well and he's getting back to his normal self in no time
-
Not long now
-
Good luck, Tyler - hope your op goes well. Zoe:
-
Hope all went well!

Well thats my baby home and all went well. The vet was happy enough her we heart was strong enough.
The vet checked her heart by x ray and blood tests for her liver and kidneys to and she has an enlarged heart on the right hand side, they will just keep an eye on it. SO lease she got her dental and heart checked. Least all done at same time
Brought her home so just lying tucked up in bed, when i picked her up at the vet the vet had her all wrapped up in a blancket. was so sweet
She still acting like she has had to many vodkas all wobly and can hardly get her we legs out the bed without colapsing
Tyler to go back for a check up on Monday and has some ABs for 5 days. So releived it went good
Ollie got his blood tests done so all was well on my days holiday

Glad everything went accoring to plan :) No one likes a clever clogs but... told you so :)
-
Yip Helen you were right and who is a clever clogs :sneaky: :sneaky: :sneaky: ha ha
Yip all releived. Its totally stupid but it did not sleep much last night at all, think everything with her heart was bothering me more as mums dog just passed away and Wee had heart probs.
They not going to put Tyler on Meds so its not as bad as i thought.
Thanks everone for the    I just a paranoid and stresser of a Mummy lol
-
So pleased that all went well and Tyler is back home
-
Thanks Gill. Her we teeth are looking fab, the vet is great. she let me pop in and see her also when i had Ollie in but Tyler was fast asleep snug in a blanket

awww lovely :Luv: you'll have to post a picture of her in her new bed ;D
-
I will post a pic if she will go in her new bed. it looks so comfy but she still seems to prefer her old scraggy bed.
Tried rubbing her voers from old bed on the new one but she still not having any of it
-
that all sounds horribly familar
like the old saying goes (in my version) - you can buy a cat a lovely new bed but you can't make her lie in it :evillaugh:
-
Mine will lay in any bed -if you put fleece in it !!!! Even if its got fleece inside anyway -i always put a piece of it inside and its almost guaranteed to work .
Glad she was okay after her teeth being done.
-
I will try the fleece. she loves her fleecy blankets i got from poundland
-
I get mine off thr roll from the market which is really good -you can buy as many metres as you like and there are quite a few colours -£3.99 per metre .
I even have a big piece over my bed for them !
-
if that doesn't work, try something you've been wearing
Trigger will go anywhere I put down a pair of well run-in socks :-[
-
Thats funny you say that as my other cat Ollie loves smelling my hubbys feet when he got smelly socks on. sometimes he tries to lick them yuk yuk yuk
-
Pic of Tyler all tucked up her her bed last night after coming home from vets. Hopefully she will like her new bed
-
awww, bless her :Luv: sometimes it does take a while for them to get used to new beds (as I remember, when I had cat who went in beds!) they were always stroppy about getting in when they'd been washed too :tired:
