My little four foster 9 week old kittens have all contracted some sort of virus with high temps, lethary, off food and all to a certain degree a form of lameness.
Little Jack though is really going thru the wars, while the others have been slightly off colour and some metacam has done the trick, little Jack was rushed to the emergency vets on Sunday night and I honestly thought that I would lose him. I had to resuscitate him at birth and due to mum's indifference I have had to practically raise this litter myself, so I have a weak spot for all of them especially Jack.
His temp at the emergency vets was 105 and I was surprised as how fast he went downhiil. He seemed to be detoriating by the minute and I thought that when we would get to the vets there would be a lifeless little body in the carrier.
He had some subcut fluids, some metacm and anti B's and seemed to pick up later that night with some syringe feeding and the next day he was back at the vet, still slightly lame but improving. Monday night he seemed to go down slightly again, but I have continued to syringe feed him and today he seems to be in pain, so I have given him a tadge more Metacam, he still needs syringe feeding though and extra cuddles. :Luv2:
One vet says it is viral, another says that it is limping syndrom associated with Feline Herpes. But I have looked it up and atlough limping syndrome is common in kittens, usually after they have had their first vaccination it is usually associated with Calci Virus not Herpes. So I do not know what I am dealing with here.
Has anyone else dealt with limping syndorme, everything that I have read says that it is transient and after about 24-48 hours all is well, we are on 72 hours and he is still not right. He will be going back to vets, though he is on Synulox I am worried about his chest as I can start to hear it bubbling a bit.

I have no experience of this at all, but just wanted to send some positive vibes.  Really hope Little Jack fights back and comes through this.

I was just going to say that limping normally comes with calci virus....
my Lulu had this, they called it shifting lameness as it changed from leg to leg
Hope they all pick up soon...especially little jack xx

Quick update on these little ones. The three siblings of jack are ok now and running around creating havoc. Little Jack is slowley getting there, he stopped limping on midweek and his appetite is slowy picking up, I now longer have to syring feed although some encouragment is needed at the feeding bowl. He is now playing with the others must still needs to stop and rest on a frequent basis.
We may well be getting there.

Anyway Jack the lad goes from strength to strength and is now snoring off his massive tea. :naughty:
