Title: Stupid action (well it is cat related, sort of)
Post by: woodlandcats on August 19, 2009, 14:43:22 PM
I always used wood based cat litter, also because it's best for rabbits, but now I found Elliot didn't like it very much.
So I changed to a different kind, the kind that clumps. Now yesterday I wanted to remove the clumps but I was a little lazy, so I threw the lot in my toilet :-[

Guess what happened........ Was I happy to arrive at work!  :evillaugh:
Now I'm waiting for the solvent to do it's job.

Is it Vats Best OKO?

They say it is OK to flush but I don't think it is as it clumps in the bottom of the toilet. I bag & bin. In the winter, it goes on the wood burner - so does the poo  :evillaugh:

You aren't using the new clumping one for bunnies as well are you?  It can kill them if they eat it :(

I gave up flushing the chick crumb as I was worried about blockages, I did still flush the poo though, and wees in a bag in the bin.

Poot is used to the wood pellets, so we'll carry on with them for a while.

nono, I don't use if for the bunnies.
As for the brand, it's from my local supermarket (Belgian, so you won't know it)

Ive had to deal with various loo blockages over the years - I still have neighbours who ask me to help ......  NEVER tell anyone you aren't particularly squeamish  :tired:

Ive found one person flushing while I chuck a bucket of water, hard, down the loo at the blockage often works.  Might need repeating a couple of times and be prepared for wet feet!!

Its never yet failed  :sneaky:

we had a blockage in the main drain not that long ago caused by chick crumb!  worst of all the drain in our backgarden is the end of the line for 5 houses - I only realised there was a problem when toilet paper started coming up the side

a bamboo cane solved the problem quickly though!

I use megazorb for the bunnies and clumping for the kitties.  I don't think either would be happy to share

put a bottle of strong solvent in the toilet and it flushes, hehe
better safe than sorry and brought an extra bottle from the supermarket.
also went to the pet store and bought a litter scoop  :evillaugh:

O well, you can't always win, can you
