Title: Feliway refills not lasting as long?
Post by: Tiggy's Mum on August 16, 2009, 22:02:41 PM
I've noticed that Feliway refills aren't lasting as long nowadays and was wondering if it was just me or whether others were having the same?  The last one was plugged in 28th July so that's not even 3 weeks and it's literally on the last dribble!

I used to use it month on/month off but Lu's freezer monster phobia got quite bad in the last 'month off' so have decided to use one permanently from now.

How old is the actual diffuser itself Helen? I think they are meant to last approx 6 months!  ;)

The diffuser itself has only been used for two refills, I get paranoid about fires so always replace them well before 6 uses. I was just about to order a refill from VetUK but think I'll get the refill and diffuser in case it's something to do with that.

Hmmm! Sounds suspicious.... Well you know how Riley is addicted to Piriton, I wonder if Lulu is sniffing up all the Feliway!  :evillaugh: :Luv:

Maybe that's it  :evillaugh: Lu has always been the quieter of the two but deep down he is a cheeky little chappy and the feliway really hits the spot with him and lets him relax and be himself, especially around the freezer monster which despite moving house has followed the freezer to the new kitchen  :shify:

Have just ordered a diffuser/refill combo from VetUK in case it's to do with the diffuser, if it only lasts 3 weeks again I think I'm going to email the manufacturer to complain  8)

Its to do with evaporation and humidity so i would guess that as its warmer weather its gone quicker

I thought of that with it been *Ahem* "Summer".... But then what a swizz when you think that the diffuser should be such as to be able to account for that!   Maybe Im too far ahead for my time!  :innocent:

Well, I emailed the manufactureres with the batch number asking if they'd had any issues, they replied saying none that they were aware of and that they'd send me a free replacement one.  It came today and it's a diffuser as well not just a refill, I'd already bought a new diffuser + refill from VetUK but will keep the Feliway going permanently now so it will still get used  :)

I was looking at mine thinking "i only put that in nearly two weeks ago and its nearly gone!"  not good considering I get them delivered to work and my colleagues keep asking what they are (very embarrassing to explain to a bunch of hardcore dog lovers that you are buying a plug-in for a cat)

 :tired:
