i would definitely recommend you go for the aluminium mesh though. The less expensive version sounds like ordinary flywire to me and will disintegrate on sight with most cats ...

I actually know people with both types of screening, none have had any trouble.

It's weird, I have been looking for something like this for my top opening of my windows.

my cats have always systematically shredded my flywire, the last house with wire doors looked like it had one of those beaded screens that go over doorways, it was so comprehensively shredded I gave up and took it off ....

One of our fosterers has 7 indoor cats and the coated glass fibre Cataire screening, she has had them for years and all are still in purrfect condition.

I have the cataire screens with the glass fibre (normal) mesh.  I would say they are fine for general use but if any of your cats are climbers then I'd go for the aluminium for peace of mind.  Lucas took to racing up the window and clinging onto the mesh and there are several small claw holes in it now.

Since I've moved I haven't got round to re-installing them as my windows are different sizes but I did contact cataire and you can buy the aluminium mesh separately so if you went for normal mesh and one of your cats took to climbing it you can always fit the aluminium mesh afterwards.
