just took these a few mins ago, for the life of me i just dont get the cody/fraser thing. When you actually see cody its not totally like he is being nasty but you'd almost think he hasnt been socalised with cats properly even though he was with litter mates until 3 + months old then by the time i got him at 41/2 months he was still happily playing with a litter of slightly younger devon rexes and being kept in check by their mum so i am bamboozled.
My old man fraser is really starting to slow up these days too.

Fraser...

you can see from the pics cody doesnt try to really scratch or bite so i find it all rather bizarre, infact when cody gets him in a grip he actually licks and nibbles frasers fur  he doesnt act like that at all with big sebastian but fraser is the dominant one of the big boys

Looks to me like Cody is trying his luck at being head honcho and Fraser is treating him with the same sort of disdain that Bob used to use, instead of getting in a fight. Nothing more crushing than trying to pick a fight with someone who ignores you. I never saw Bob fight anyone, but he was definitely top cat all his life - no question!

well i have often suspected that it is fraser who is targeted because cody knows he's top dog as it were, even tho fraser doesnt show it but cats must be able to pick up on scents and vibes. Indeed the few times there was any friction between fras and seb (before cody came) we spent years chasing and shouting at seb when it happened and it was only a couple of years ago we saw a couple of spats start and saw it was infact fraser putting seb in his place and causing it. we had always wrongly presumed seb was at fault i guess due to his huge size but no seb is actually very non confrontational :)
i suppose fraser could well put cody in his place but codys big advantage is his speed, sadly the very thing fraser really lacks these days.

One of my cats does this....I think they are trying to be dominant in a sly kinda way! :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:

And very successfully too - it is clearly driving Cody nuts and he can't understand why he is not getting a reaction ...

He doesnt particularily play for the camera i must say and tends to get a huffy look.
gwen that may also be a contributing factor, seb has never been one to play and whilst fraser used to like a play time with a feather wand he really seems to have passed that stage now, i can almost get a rouse from him with the wiggly waggler but only sometimes so maybe cody really wants to play aswell and gets frustrated with the fairly obvious disgust fraser has lol. However with his past duvet peeing and obvious dominance issues i have more or less decided he will eventually be an only cat, he truly does act like a little lord and needs to be centre of attention. alot of folk said he'd probably warm to and appreciate another permie and all the stories ive heard of the newbie perms into a household they all get on great as if they recognise their own and of course have similar interests and personalitys but i couldnt get one to then put back a month later so bascially he wont feel deprived coz thats sorta how he lives at the mo, they really are extremely human orientated..mind you he does get on great with the dogs and only cuddles up to them or stick his tail in their mouths :evillaugh: he never tries to annoy them, maybe he thinks he is a dog .
