Hi all ,
Here's an update on Tabbs. She's settling in very nicely to her new home (photo attached)... Here's the email I received...

Hello Anne.  Thought you might like an update and a photo.

Tabs arrived on Friday, courtesy of Sam and Elaine who were very sad to see her go.  She is settling in really well, in fact amazingly easily for her age.  She is a lovely cat and has even taken well to her new name - Brenda (!)   I have been sending texts, photos and e.mails to Sam and Elaine so they know that she is settling in so well.   When everything has become very familiar to her we will take her to the vets and start her course of vaccination and worm and flea treatments but until then she is just pottering around the house and finding new places to catnap.

Ruth,
You can add another cat to that list... here's the email I got shortly after getting the news about Bundy & Tabs..

Hi

Please can you help, I have a cat that I cant have anymore due to I'm having financial difficulties and i'm having to sell my house and move to a private rent place but i cant have any pets, I only have a week to rehome my cat, can I bring him to you ?

Thanks

I've emailed him and asked him to send info and a picture if he can, so we will see if he replies... He doesn't evn say where he lives.

If i remember the owner said they are not the type to cuddlle up together and can be seperated,so why not leave bundy where he is happy with the neighbour and try to find a place for tabs?

cc, does your mum still want to take her maybe? :Luv: Or maybe not? ;). Its just it was mentioned if they dont find a place you might take bundy and your mum tabs :Luv: ;) ;)

They aren't chipped Ela, but Sue is going to take Tabs to the vet when she is settled and get her the full works, health check etc.
I don't know about Bundy's new or should I say shared owner.

Wonderful, please remind the new owners to change any chip details if the little one is chipped. Of course that would go for Bundy too.

I'm Back with the final act..  wait for it.........

Tabs is going to her new home in Huddersfield tomorrow morning   :wow:  :wow:  and double wow !!!!!  Sue ... her new mum thinks she will be happier on her own anyway, away from the occasional playful attention of Bundy which she really doesn't care for,  sue is going to keep in touch with Mr & Mrs Lovat and she's sending me some photo's in a few days time of Tabs and her new home so I'll post them on here  as soon as they arrive... So that's it folks, a very happy ending for one and all, all that remains is to let Catchat have the good news so they can be moved from the urgent list to the roll of honour list.. YEAHHHHHHH !!!  ;D

Oh dear me, more suspence!!  In a perfect scenario I would have hoped Bundy and Tabs would stay together, but the most important thing is that both get a loving permanent home.  Let's hope for the best and the good news is on its way shortly!!

Don't know about that Dolcetta, but I will ask when they call me. The couple from Huddersfield may decide to have Tabs after all and I suppose it's only fair that we wait for their answer, although it would be more difficult for them to take on a strange cat to go with Tabs if they decided to do that ( going on Tabs anti social tendencies)  and if they took her and decided to keep her on her own that would mean the chance of a home for a pair being lost.

I will certainly ask Mr & Mrs Lovat to ask the neighbour if he could take them both if this doesn't work out for Tabs, we will have to play it by ear for now..  :)

Well folks, I couldn't wait and have just come off the phone with Mrs Lovat... there's good and possibly bad news, so here we go.

the couple arrived and and met Tabs and thought she was lovely, Bundy, though, wasn't in the house so they went outside to call him and he didn't come. This went on for a while and the couple decided to go get something to eat in the hope that he would have returned by the time they got back. Calling Bundy continued until the neighbour whose garden backs on to Mr Lovats asked who they were calling.. you aren't going to believe this next bit.... Apparently Bundy has been going to be fed at the neighbours house all his life, but until about 18 months ago, which coincided with the birth of Mr Lovats little boy, the neighbour had a very yappy little terrier who would bark at Bundy. The neighbours lost the terrier around the same time as baby Lovat was born, so Bundy decided to move in with the neighbour almost full time and that will account for Mr Lovat thinking he was preferring to stay outdoors most of the time, when in actual fact he was sleeping across the back on somebody else's bed. It has been decided because Bundy is happy with the neighbour and has lived there all his life  ( which sounds like it's now 10 years not 11 or 12) the neighbour wants to keep him. This scenario creates ([possibly) the bad news. The couple from Huddersfield wanted 2 cats so they are going to think about it and get back to Mr & Mrs Lovat to let them know if they still want to adopt Tabs. Mrs Lovat doesn't think they will, because of wanting 2, so I'm afraid we will have a few more hours of uncertainty until we here from them.  :(

Nope... sorry no news yet... but you know what they say "no news is good news"
I did ask Mr Lovat to call me as soon as the couple had left but I think he may not call until after he has been over to see the home. I think if they had decided against having them I would have had a call by now, because if that were the case he wouldn't need to go over to Huddersfield so would have no reason to delay calling.  :)
I might not be able to control myself if he doesn't call soon... I shall end up calling him... the suspense is killing me

Thank you all for your encouraging and kind comments.

Just to let you all know the lady that called me and her husband have made arrangements to go to see Bundy and Tabs at 11:30 this morning (25th) and if they are happy with them (and who wouldn't be) Mr Lovat is going to see their home in the afternoon and if he and his wife are happy it's all systems go  ;D`

Not wishing to be seen counting chickens before they're hatched, but I'm pretty confident this will be another Gemini team success story for the roll of honour and in a record (for me) 3 or 4 days from first being listed on catchat.

Watch this space !!!
