Tinkerbell and Patch's story
« Reply #1 on: February 11, 2010, 22:21:46 PM »
Tinkerbell was the first cat I ever lived with. In Nov 08 she got a virus that made fluid build up in her chest and there was nothing anyone could do to save her. When she went over the bridge we had to be strong because we had to look after her 3 week old kittens, they were very upset and missed their mum. Patch was a stray and her boyfriend, even though we had tried to keep her in when he was about he loved her and came looking for her for nearly 2 months after she died, crying and calling for her.

When the kittens were older and started to go outside Patch would come and see them, it seemed like he knew they were his. Jack loved his dad and followed him on adventures, after a few hours Patch would walk his son home and then turn round and head off again. Patch started to become tame but was still very cautious of the cat trap laid for him. He started to come and eat out of our hands and we decided we would be able to catch him and take him to a rescue.

We planned to catch him on a day we were not at work when he came for breakfast but that day he never showed up. A few days later a neighbor told us about a cat that sounded like Patch that she had seen on the day he stopped coming round and he had been killed by a car  :'(

I hope they found each other on the other side of the bridge. RIP
