Thanks guys - will do. I still keep hoping that he'll pop up one day.

We're on holiday for a week from Friday but decided not to get any more cats until we got back.  I'm a little dubious about catterys now and didn't want to leave them on their own whilst it was all still new.

Have got use to life with open windows upstairs.. but its just seems wrong now there's no life in the house!  So if anyone has a pair of sisters in the north west...  :wow:

And obviously, if anyone finds a black manx HE'S MINE!

Nope I'm afraid not.. its now been four months and still nothing.  Still got his food down in the kitchen - I guess can't bear to throw it away.  :(

Going away at the weekend and am going to look for a little lady cat or two when we get back.  Don't want another male, just in case he is eventually found and he won't like that.  He's good with the ladies though. :)

Heartbroken,

Been away with work for the past two days.. so t'other half put the food down last night and we're going again later tonight..  now I'm back going to speak to the local cats protection lady (she's been helping since the break in so knows about it already) and see if she can lend us a trap.  Even if we don't get Louis - there are still another 2 missing in the area, so you never know.  There is a cat trap already set where they have been spotted, but its not been visited since it was put down.  I'm hoping that what ever is going there gets used to visiting so when the food is moved slightly they won't be too startled and still nip in..  its been five nights now, so they should be getting regular at it!

Fingers crossed.. I'll keep you posted!   ;D

Nikki can you source yourself a trap or 2? Its the easiest way as even a friendly cat can loose it if you try to put it in a basket.
Your local cats protection should be able to loan you one.

I really hope you get your boy back   :luck:

Yeah - its actually one road with houses on by some farmland - going to get the address (well house number!) of the lady who has seen them tomorrow and go and investigate further.  Feel like a private investigator sitting a darkened car staring at an empty road!  ;D  Fingers crossed and all that..

Nikki,

I'm sure you've already done this but have you circulated LOTS of posters round the area again so the "neighbours" can keep an eye out for the missing trio.

Fingers crossed these sightings will soon lead to these puss cats beign caught and reunited with their owners.

Good luck

We have had some sightings of all three of the missing cats in the same area that Riley was found in - looks like they've all been dumped there - its about a mile away from the cattery.  Its in a quite quiet area, so we've spent quite a lot of time down there (I'm sure the neighbours must think we're up to something lol) leaving food, and clothes that smell of home around.  The food's going overnight, but no luck actually finding a puss yet.

Fingers crossed though - looks like something may happen yet!

Hi Nikki,

Only you know the answer to that one.  I think you are probably right to go for a female cat then when and if Louis comes home he will have a little playmate.

Still no luck in finding Louis or the other babes..  :'(

Question now is.. how long do I leave it before adopting again?  I don't think I'll ever give up really, but even if he did come back I reckon if I got another girl he'd be ok with it anyway.  :Luv:

I don't want give up on the fact that he may come home, but I can also offer some other cat a comfy home too.

So the question is.. how long do I wait?

Yes its great news - he was found about half a mile from the cattery so it does look like they've only escaped  :wow:.  I was beginning to think that they'd been dumped further afield but looks like at least they're in the area.   ;D

Still have to find them mind.   :catluv:

We've found Riley - the white one!  Bonus.

Unfortunately none of the others have yet been found, but doing to do another scoot around the area tomorrow - now we know where Riley was found, hopefully the others aren't going to be too far away.

I'll check with Sue from Mymoggy, have been away with work so just back now, ready to start again.  :scared:

So sorry to hear about this and think that all missing cats should be reported to sue at  www.mymoggy.com. also Sam(fussyfurball) accesses the National pet register so should be able to help you get them on there too I hope.

have all the locals vets and rescues near the cattery been advised? also posters of all missing cats need to be put up, maybe all this has been done and hope that they are all found safely.

Cattery Break in - some cats still missing..
« Reply #1 on: March 07, 2007, 21:12:26 PM »
Hi everyone...

Can those of you in the north west area keep an eye open for a missing black manx cat. My Louis was taken or left to escape from the cattery he was staying in whilst we were on holiday.  >:(  My dude's still out there and I miss him so!   :'(

A CATTERY is offering a £500 reward for information leading to the conviction of a vandal who released five cats from their premises.

Little Lions, in Holcroft Lane, Culcheth, said owners were distraught after the raid in the early hours of February 9 in which an intruder pulled back mesh on the outdoor runs and opened all the doors to free the pets.

Despite extensive inquiries and steps to recover the felines only one has since been returned.

One of the cats belongs an Irlam family whose house burned down in January - and their 11-year-old daughter Shanice is mortified.

Cattery owner Rebecca Ovinton said: "She keeps coming here crying and searching the fields, and asking to look for her cats."

The cattery has borrowed traps from the Cats Protection League to try to recover the runaway pets from surrounding fields.

The missing cats are Angel, an 18-month-old female tortoiseshell, Ali, a brown six-year-old tabby with half a tail, Riley, a pure white female aged one and a half, and Lewis, a black Manx cat.

Rebecca said: "We have never heard of anything like this happening before and cannot understand how anyone could be so heartless. It is terrible for the families returning from holiday to find that their much loved pets have been lost. We are doing everything in our power to get them back.

"If anyone in the Leigh area has knowledge of any strays answering the descriptions we would love to hear from them."

Anyone with information about the cats can contact Little Lions on 01925 766441, while anyone with information on the intruder can contact police on 0845 458 0000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
