so am now needing to know what to do about him do i try and put him into rescue or try to find him a home myself???
Any suggestions have maybe 6 weeks before he needs somewhere
We are in Leicester

You could do both....Sometimes there are waiting lists for cats to go into rescue's so that may not be an immediate answer for you. I would try and find him a home yourself, do a bit of home checking etc to ensure he is not going to anyone....

Maybe someone else on here could give you more advice on the re-homing front as to tell you the truth I am no good at it...hence having 13 cats!  :innocent:

Maybe put a thread up to get him his forever home (hopefully) in the "cats needing homes" Sect!

Hope all goes well! R  :)

Ok change of plan as we have decided we really cannot afford to have another cat to vaccinate to put  into cattery  and also do not want to add extrta stess to Abby who does suffer cystitus from time to time.

I feel really awful bout doing this knowing about all the other furbabes in rescue   :(

If your cats are innoculated already I cant see any probs!  ;)

Good luck with the intro's, I would let them all meet at once....If you can touch the cat then get your scent on him and vice versa and let your cats smell it to get adjusted!

There will probably be some hissing at first...dont panic as that is quite normal, once your cats realise he is no threat then all should calm down eventually!  ;D

I do hope everything will be okay....best of luck!

Thanks for that Bazsmum

It takes about 6 weeks to get a cat innoculated cos of the two injections so cant really say what would be best and you do not have the time for this.

Are your cats innoculated?

That should be long enough for the intro's.....I would not say to leave the cat behind as it sounds as if he really does not like his original home (poor new deaf kitty!)

Maybe if they dont get on you could try and find him a home, failing that then I would take him with you, keep him in a spare room and hopefully try and find him a home or try the intro's again! Good Luck!  ;)

What about trying the intro's before you move and see how it goes....you never know if she is already aware of him that may not be the cause of her stress....

smudge did originally live next door with the local drunk
But I didn't realise this
I saw him eating from the dustbins!!!!
And the first meal i gave him was gone in seconds
then he saw where we lived and started sitting outside our door waitin!!!!
Been feeding him for approx 2 years

The drunk next door now has a new cat who is deaf  :scared:

Is Smudge a stray and how long have you been feeding him??

Hi guys wat would you do we have been given the opportunity to swap properties to a ground floor flat with garden access,
But the dilemma we have is we have a cat living outside in the covered hallway who I feed (smudge).
WE have 2 cats inside abby 4  is prone to cystitus which we think may be caused by stress although she does know smudge is outside
We also have Zak  2 inside now our dilemma is do we attempt to introduce Smudge with a risk to abby
or find him a new home?
