On the 10th April 2009 i took on Dylan & Smudge who were said to be 3yrs old so they should by my reckoning be just over 4yrs old now? I was all set to lavish them with love for a good few years yet but....
On 20th July 2010 a Tuesday afternoon i noticed Smudge (Puddin) was a little under the weather and those gorgeous blue eyes had turned yellow so i got him straight into the vets. I waited in the car while hubby went in. When he came out he gave me the most awful news that my poor little Puddin has Liver Cancer and it's inoperable and he only has between a week and a month to live. ;'( We decided to bring him home and he's on streoids to perk him up a bit & get him eating. He's not in pain or suffering at the moment. ;'(
The vet told us that Smudge is infact closer to 10yrs old!! as there is no way a cat of 4yrs could have such progressive liver cancer. I have been crying since tuesday knowing that i am going to lose my little Puddin.
I can't believe that iv'e not had him for long but i'm going to lose him very soon. He has lost the beautiful little meow he once had.
I'm spoiling him more than usual and making the most of the time i have left with him. I really don't know how Dylan will be without him although they eventually went their separate ways. Smudge just loved running round keeping everyone in line..
The picture was taken not long after i got them home and the white female behind the scratch post is 11yrs old now and also on borrowed time.
I have already lost 5 cats in just over 2yrs it just doesn't seem fair that my cats keep being taken away from me. Most peoples run of bad luck sees a washer or fridge break down. iv'e lost one cat after the other.
I rescued another Persian Fudge, from a rescue in pembrokeshire a few months ago, i don't know if anyone recalls me posting for a transport run? Anyway a month ago he fell ill with respitory problems and had to be put to sleep because he was not responding to treatment and took a turn for the worst. He was meant to be around 3 - 4yrs old. I had him for a mere month. He brightened up any ones day. He would chirrup when you walked in the room and was so pleased to see you. He was the biggest gentlest cat id'e ever known.
The 2nd pic is of Fudge the day he arrived. He came out of the crate climbed to the top of the scratch post looked round and said "I'm Home"
Sorry for the essay i just needed to post this.
