Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to say a thank you to all those people that kindly sent Marmaduke presents for his pen.  He enjoyed them for a little while and then decided he wanted to find a permanent home and so he strutted his stuff for a lovely lady that came to see him!  He has now gone to his new home and has left the snugglepads and furry blankets for another needy cat.

Claire xx

I think pure black is the colour we have most of at the moment. IT is generally black/white though, but we have a white/black in, which I prefer, and hope that he will appeal as he has unusual markings.

I bet he wont be waiting long for a new home, ginger is one of the colours we get asked about most, and one we rarely get in!!

Everything in my pens is black/white too, have found myself wondering how so many assorted colours are in other rescues.

Maddiesmum a very lovely person on the forum has ordered a snugglesafe for him.

Do you have a snuggle safe you could heat up and put in his bed for cold nights?

He is Christine but I am used to providing proper heating for all the cats and tend to worry, his little house will be lovely and snug, however if it gets really cold he will be breathing cold air all the time which isnt good.

Its the big pen on the right, the one I call Freds Den.

Oh yes, I know - well, it is extremely sheltered there, isn't it, and I should think very cosy with the vet bedding.  Methinks Marmaduke will be well-pleased with his accommodation  ;)

Edited for spelling mistake  :-[

Is it the big pen on the left as you go out, Teresa?

Do you have power supply to his pen?

Afraid not MM,its a pen I normally dont use during the winter months unless I have a needy feral,  every year I tell myself we will sort electricity out for it but other things always crop up.

Marmaduke has had a busy morning, hes been to see vet Andy, he has gingivitis and conjunctivitis more than likely as a result of calicivirus; we made the decision to vaccinate as Andy feels the benefits outweigh the risk to his health. He has now been microchipped, had a milbemax which he ate whole, had his eyes cleaned up and been Frontlined  , so he is currently saying his farewells to his friends the flea tribe and worm squad
He is only about 18months to 2 years max and seems really glad of his current lodgings. The pictures make him look a fair size but in truth he is on the bony side, I`m sure he will soon fatten up.

There is a little raised house in the pen which is well padded with vet bedding but its just not fair to have to leave the poor lad without heat, though I suppose he would have been even colder on the street.
Will get some pics tomorrow after Marmaduke has been to the vets.

At least little Marmaduke has the vet bedding and I reckon that will be a lot cosier and comfier than any alternative the poor mite might have had to seek out on his own tonight.

May his poor gums be quickly sorted.

  to him

A knock on the door tonight proved to be another desperate case, a big ginger boy with sore gums and nowhere to go; I feel terrible as all my pens are full except one big outdoor one without heating; will have to go and buy a couple of snugglesafe heat pads tomorrow and hope its not too cold tonight.
